Overview
We are seeking a full-time Localization Analyst 2 in our Olathe, KS location. Do you like the idea of delighting customers across the world with well-localized products? In this role you will be responsible for guiding and supporting worldwide Garmin associates and business partners in the creation and improvement of localized Garmin products and communications. You will have the opportunity to collaborate with a variety of globally distributed teams such as engineering, testing, marketing and product management. You will have visibility to all the segments in the company and have a hand in the international success of almost every Garmin product that goes out the door. This team is currently working on high-impact strategic initiatives and on building a sustainable future for localization operations at Garmin.
Essential Functions
- Own, plan and implement medium to large localization projects and initiatives
- Monitor the proper use of localization processes and tools and drive improvements when appropriate
- Contribute to roadmaps for various technologies to support Garmin's long-term localization needs and assist in executing them
- Manage relationships with translation vendor(s) and track their metrics
- Build relationships with business stakeholders
- Train users on localization technologies/processes and troubleshoot issues
- Resolve localization defects by working with in-country linguists, reviewers, testers and development teams to achieve high-quality deliverables
- Work with various teams across Garmin to guide and support the localization of Garmin products and other content to meet target market requirements
- Maintain and administer various technologies to support Garmin's localization needs
- Create and maintain terminology to ensure accuracy, consistency, and cultural conformity
- Assist other teams in project planning and execution
- Track and report translation costs
- Create and maintain team documentation, training guides etc.
- Assist in hiring and onboarding efforts
- May review documentation, software user interfaces, packaging, and other localized content for consistency, quality, and adherence to localization requirements and target market needs; and report any issues found
- May create localized content for specific use cases/projects/content types in their native language(s)

Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field AND a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience OR Associates degree with a minimum 5 years of relevant experience OR an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
- Knowledge of at least one additional language besides English (i.e. bilingual)
- Proficiency with common Microsoft Office software (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc.)
- In-depth experience with localization processes and technologies
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Good understanding of software engineering processes and tools
- Ability to collaborate with others and build strong relationships
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
