About the Role:
We are searching for a detail-oriented finance professional to join us in a hybrid capacity at headquarters in Compton, CA as the Sr. Accounts Payable Specialist. Reporting to the Accounts Payable Manager, this non-exempt level position will be responsible for processing, tracking, and recording payments in an accurate, efficient, and timely manner within SAP. They’ll have a daily, ongoing impact on financial transactions, keeping us on track, on time, and on good terms with our valued partners. Having 4+ years of mid to high volume experience in accounts payable processing is required in this role along with experience in SAP.
Salary Range: $32-36/hour (non-exempt role)
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Process and maintain all new vendor set up to ensure proper documentation obtained before first payment is made.
- Balance vendor statements to Accounts Payable.
- Analyze and process a high volume of invoices for multiple entities in the US.
- Review invoices for proper coding, appropriate documentation, and in line with procurement policy.
- Process 2-Way and 3-Way match via J.D. Edwards (Enterprise One) for inventory related invoices.
- Route invoices that do not have POs to various divisions for review and approvals adhering to delegations of authority; follow up when required.
- Research various issues relating to invoice/purchase order variances.
- Reconcile corporate credit card statement monthly.
- Process all company payments to be disbursed via check weekly.
- Review and reconcile Received Not Vouchered Reports on a monthly basis.
- Support the AP Manager in the areas of reporting, metrics, and business process improvements.
- Support internal and external audits as needed.
- Assist with acquisition transitions as needed.
- Proactively resolve day-to-day issues and escalate when appropriate.
- Follow established Accounts Payable policies, procedures, and control processes to ensure accuracy of Accounts Payable.
Education and Experience Requirements
The successful candidate should be energetic, insightful, collaborative, self-motivated, and positive with interest in customer support.
Required Experience
- 4+ years of mid to high volume experience in accounts payable processing.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Experience with SAP is required.
- Strong computer and Microsoft Office skills required.
- Strong time management skills to successfully prioritize and meet deadlines while managing multiple tasks in a challenging environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact with vendors, HQ and field personnel, senior management, and other stakeholders.
- Commitment to accuracy, timeliness, and high-quality work.
Preferred Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field is preferred.
- P Card or CC knowledge is preferred.
- Experience with J.D. Edwards (Enterprise One) is preferred.
- Manufacturing industry experience is a plus.
