Job Title: Part Time Accounting Clerk I
Job Summary: This position aids in the execution of a variety of accounting office tasks for a contractor's accounting department. Tasks may include processing various types of accounts payable including credit card transactions, reviewing job costs against purchase records, communications with vendors and/or subcontractors. Additional tasks will include filing, and spreadsheet preparation. Occasional support of billing functions. 24-30hrs. per week across 3 or more days weekly and start date in September. This position reports to the Vice President of Finance.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Collect, prepare, and enter Credit Card vouchers & receipts into accounting software, verifying necessary approvals have been obtained.
- Assist with statement review for vendors at month end.
- Assist in entry of job invoices.
- Collect job closing data and update relevant database.
- Scan & update vendor W-9's and insurance COI's and update as needed.
- Serve as back up for additional AP functions including collection and routing of incoming AP invoices, summarizing invoice cost details, and reviewing job costs for completeness.
- Filing, organizing, and archiving of records as directed.
- Perform additional duties as necessary to support the operation of the accounting department.
Skills, Knowledge, and Experience:
The ideal candidate will have 1-2 years of prior bookkeeping or accounting department experience with basic ability with MS Word & Excel required. Must be highly accurate and detail oriented with strong organization skills. Construction is a dynamic and fluid industry so the ability to be flexible with deadlines and priorities is critical.
Physical Requirements:
- Required to stand, or walk, or sit, talk, and hear for extended periods.
- Ability to operate a keyboard, telephone, and other standard office equipment.
- Occasionally lifts to 10 lbs.
