PAY RANGE
The Target Pay Range for this position is $100,900.00-$123,200.00 annually. The full Pay Range is $78,400.00 - $145,800.00 annually. At BECU, compensation decisions are determined using factors such as relevant job-related skills, experience, and education or training. Should an offer for employment be made, we will consider individual qualifications. In addition to your salary, compensation incentives are available for the hired applicant.

Newly hired employees accrue 6.16 hours of paid time off (PTO) on a per pay period basis based on hours worked (up to a maximum of 160 PTO hours per year) and receive ten paid holidays throughout the calendar year.
IMPACT YOU'LL MAKE:
As the Sr Credit Risk Analyst, Unsecured at BECU, you'll play a vital role in analyzing and monitoring the credit risk across our portfolios. Your insights will help shape our risk management strategies by ensuring adherence to governance standards and lending policies. You'll be instrumental in developing and maintaining reporting and analytic frameworks that provide clear insights into portfolio health and performance. By collaborating with various stakeholders, you'll support the discovery and measurement of risks, identify potential threats and opportunities, and influence decision-making processes. Your expertise will not only enhance our credit risk management practices but also contribute to the overall financial well-being of our members.
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
- Data Analysis & Discovery: Conduct data discovery and aggregation across multiple large databases, identifying trends and developing actionable insights.
- Reporting & Monitoring: Develop and maintain recurring and ad-hoc reporting suites for monitoring the unsecured portfolios (card, personal loan, line of credit), including portfolio risk ratings and health assessments.
- Risk Investigation: Investigate and validate risk management processes through data review and engagement with business unit personnel.
- Credit Risk Analysis: Perform in-depth analysis of loan portfolios or subpopulations to identify potential risks and opportunities, including evaluating origination decision logic and credit profiles.
- Statistical Evaluation: Utilize statistical modeling techniques to predict outcomes of credit programs and strategies.
- Strategic Collaboration: Partner with Senior Leadership to develop and support credit risk initiatives, adjusting portfolio management strategies as needed.
- Leadership & Mentorship: Mentor junior staff, fostering their development and performance.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations related to credit risk management.
- Documentation & Reporting: Maintain and update written procedures and management information reporting, ensuring operational efficiency.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a quantitative or business field, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 5 years of related functional experience in credit risk analytics, with a preference for experience in the financial services industry.
Desired Qualifications:
- Advanced degree preferred.
- Previous experience in managing projects is preferred.
- Proficient in PC skills, including Microsoft Office (Excel, Word), with the ability to quickly learn new software.
- Advanced experience with quantitative software and database querying tools (e.g., SAS, SQL, Python) and presentation development software (e.g., Tableau, PowerBI, PowerPoint).
- Demonstrated experience in analyzing portfolio performance and articulating results from a risk management perspective. Ability to collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Experience in building cohesive cross-functional teams and facilitating collaborative decision-making.
