Job Summary
Internal Audit, organizationally branded as Global Audit, is an independent and objective assurance and consulting department designed to add value and improve the operations of Bread Financial Systems Corporation and its subsidiaries (collectively Bread Financial). Global Audit's mission is to enhance and protect organizational value by providing risk-based and objective assurance, advice, and insight. Global Audit helps Bread Financial accomplish its objectives by bringing a systematic, disciplined approach to evaluate and improve the effectiveness of governance, risk management, and control processes. Assist with all activities relating to the organization’s audit of financial, operational, and managerial processes and systems.
The IT Senior I helps Global Audit achieve its mission by leading complex audit engagements to analyze and evaluate new and existing information systems and applications to ensure appropriate controls exist, processing is efficient and accurate, and systems and procedures are in compliance with all relevant regulations, laws, and standards. The IT Senior I, potentially with the assistance of audit staff, will plan, execute, evaluate, and report on the results of the audit procedures performed under the oversight of an audit manager. The IT Senior I is expected to evaluate their own work, and the work of staff on the project, to ensure meaningful risk-based recommendations are provided to management.
Essential Job Functions
Auditing –
- Conducts internal information technology system audits and risk assessments.
- With supervision, develops and implements an audit and control framework to monitor IT production environments for potential system integrity exposure and control weaknesses.
- Identifies various controls (e.g., financial, operational, compliance) to the organization and makes recommendations for corrective actions/mitigation of risks.
- Evaluates complex information systems and controls including but not limited to applications, business control processes, change control management procedures, security, networks, and computer and data center operations.
- Relationship building with senior leaders (Director and above) via ad hoc updates associated with the audit execution process and area of expertise.
Coaching - Coach less experienced team members and help them resolve problems. May assist with the review and evaluation of project staff.
Reporting - Reports findings to management and communicates recommendations for corrective actions. Obtain and work with management on remediation plans to identified audit issues.

Working Conditions/ Physical Requirements:
- Normal office environment.
- Hybrid, 3 to 4 days per month are required in office if within 60 miles of a Bread Financial location.
Travel: 10-20%, as needed

Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Science, Computer Information Technology or equivalent experience.
- Five or more years of experience in planning or leading audit engagements.
- Knowledge of and experience with at least one of the following frameworks: COBIT, NIST, COSO, ITIL.
- Knowledge of and experience with at least one of the following SOC 2 Type 2, ISO 27001, PCI DSS, IT Risk assessment.
- Familiarity with Microsoft, UNIX, Mainframe, databases, web applications, networking and/or other common technology systems/applications.
Preferred Experience:
- CISA or CISSP.
- 6+ years of experience in planning or leading audit engagements.
- System/Application development experience (Azure cloud a plus).
- Java, Python, JavaScript, .Net, PowerShell, or other coding languages.
- Data analytics experience (query, population testing, scripting).
- Experience with Robotic Process Automation (RPA) or Artificial Intelligence (AI).
- Infrastructure, network, or information security experience a plus.
- External or internal audit, preferably with large, public registrant or public accounting firm.
- Bank auditing experience, also a plus.

Typical Starting Range: $79,500.00 - $144,100.00
Full Salary Range for position:
California: $91,500.00 - $180,100.00
Colorado: $79,500.00 - $151,300.00
New York: $87,500.00 - $180,100.00
Washington: $83,500.00 - $165,700.00
Maryland: $83,500.00 - $151,300.00
Washington DC: $91,500.00 - $165,700.00
The actual base pay within this range may be dependent upon many factors, which may include, but are not limited to, work location, education, experience, and skills.
Benefits: Bread Financial offers medical, prescription drug, dental, vision, and other voluntary benefits (including basic and optional life insurance, supplemental medical plans, and short and long-term disability) to eligible associates (regular full-time associates scheduled to work 30 hours per week or more) and their spouses/domestic partners, and child(ren) under the age of 26. New associate elected coverage begins on date of hire (with the exception of disability coverage which has a 6-month waiting period). Six weeks of 100% paid parental leave for eligible parents is available after a 180-day waiting period. Hired associates can immediately enroll in Bread Financial’s 401(k) plan.
All associates receive 11 paid holidays. Associates have discretion in managing their time away from work through the Flexible Time Off (FTO) program and may need to notify and receive approval from their manager prior to taking the time off. Associates (except those located in Illinois) receive 80 hours of Paid Sick and Safe Time (“PSST”) upon hire and at the beginning of each subsequent calendar year. Illinois associates receive 40 hours of Illinois PSST upon hire and at the beginning of each subsequent calendar year and 40 hours of Illinois Paid Leave upon hire and at the beginning of each subsequent calendar year. Illinois Paid Leave must be used before associates in Illinois will be approved to take FTO.
Hired associates will be able to elect the purchase company stock during offering periods in June and December. You will be eligible for an annual incentive bonus based on individual and company performance.
