Job Title:Sr. Operator/Compliance Technician -Offshore (Santa Barbara, CA)

Crew Change Location:Santa Barbara, CA (Transportation cost covered by customer to and from California crew change if out of state)

Responsibilities:
- Review BSEE and EPA required plans, procedures, diagrams, and manuals referenced on the Compliance Checklist.
- Ensure that all observations are unbiased and made independently of production operations.
- Verify all deficiencies are corrected from last inspection done.
- Conduct accidents, incidents, spills, near miss and other special investigations as requested.
- Review lock out/tag out of long term and temporary equipment.
- Directly supervise and assist crew with daily testing, repairs, and maintenance of all equipment and safety devices.
- Responsible for following safety procedures and maintaining safety data.
- Conduct daily safety walks and talks with all operations personnel; participate in the company’s daily Safety, Quality and Environmental program.
- Ensure that all platforms, process equipment are functioning efficiently, with any failure of safety critical elements to meet performance standards being reported immediately to the Production Supervisor.
- Maintain required operational log sheets, maintenance records, production reports, and BSEE testing records.
- Manage, monitor, and report all discharges and emissions in compliance with Environmental limits.
- Ensure all operations personnel are working in a safe manner, wearing proper PPE, and following the company’s Safety, Quality, and Environmental program.
- Produce wells at the rate client is requesting.
- Operate, test, and repair safety shutdown devices.
- Verify emergency equipment and ESD system are in good operating conditions.
- In the role of Area Authority ensure that all work is performed according to the conditions outlined on the Permit to Work. Identify hazards and assess and manage risks.
- Start up, Operate, Monitor and Shut Down Process and Utility Systems
- Monitor, maintain and optimize process parameters (Level, flow, temperature, pressure etc.) within operating requirements.
- Ensure sampling is carried out and sample results are acted upon.
- Troubles shoot to maximize sales quality and delivery volume to identify problems.
- Monitor and operate electrical/hydraulic control panels, safety and emergency shutdown devices, Fire and Gas Systems
- Ensure accurate production reporting is submitted daily or as required by company and client.
- Witness third party calibrations when appropriate to provide verification of meter factors and volumes.
- Prove export oil meters.
- Carry out all operations in safe and environmentally sound manner. Operate offshore production facility in accordance with customer requirements.
- Test, calibrate, maintain, and inspect equipment.
- Perform mandatory paperwork required by customer and government agencies.
- Coordinate logistics for facility.
- Chemical treating and handling
- Facilitate maintenance operations by applying/removing isolations as required.
- Operation under PTW system, Toolbox Talk and Risk Assessments.
- Advise maintenance personnel on hazards of plant and equipment.
- Maintain clear and precise communications during maintenance operations.
- Control activities of vendor and subcontractor personnel
- Create and maintain effective working relationships.
- Create and maintain positive work culture.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma required.
- 8+years’ experience working offshore as a Production Operator
- 5+ years familiarity with BSEE/USCG/EPA safety, environmental testing and related programs.
- Experience testing Fire and Gas devices, subsea safety valve testing, etc.
- Offshore production operating preferred.
- Offshore control room preferred.
- H2S experience
- Boat and swing rope transfer experience
- Proficiency in MS Office and other related software required.
- Good experience of Permit to Work
- Medically fit to offshore international standards such as ENG1 or equivalent
