Kenyon College is seeking applications for a Senior Security Analyst (SSA) in the Information Technology (IT) department of the Library and Information Services division. This is a full-time, permanent, benefit-eligible position.
About Us: Join our Team!
Kenyon College, one of the nation’s finest liberal arts colleges, is a small school where academic excellence and a strong sense of community go hand in hand. Kenyon’s beautiful hilltop campus is located in Gambier, OH, 45 miles northeast of Columbus, OH. Kenyon enrolls 1800 undergraduate students, all of whom live on campus the entire time they are students at Kenyon.
The Information Technology (IT) department is an inclusive group committed to ensuring all students, faculty, staff, alumni, and other campus partners have a safe, productive, enjoyable, and meaningful experience with college technology. We provide creative solutions, responsive services, and reliable, secure access to an enabling infrastructure. About the Position: Do Work that Matters!
Security and privacy are essential parts of our life and work. Our future depends upon the integration of the needs of modern security with the institution's mission, and the Senior Security Analyst’s work is critical to achieving this future!
The Senior Security Analyst reports to the Director of Strategic Infrastructure and will interact regularly with many departments to support the mission of the College, collaborating extensively with other members of the IT team. The Senior Security Analyst leads the design and implementation of Kenyon’s cybersecurity strategy and policies that both meet the college’s legal and regulatory requirements as well as the ethical responsibilities the college assumes. In this position, you will drive the direction of security for the College.
Our work is fundamentally collaborative, not individualistic. The person in this position works with colleagues across the institution to develop the technical processes and policies necessary to achieve the college’s security goals. This requires engaging with internal team members, the campus community, and vendors to stay informed of current technology needs, to anticipate future needs, and to stay abreast of an ever-changing technology landscape. If you are interested in a breadth of responsibilities, rarely repeating the same day twice, and working with diverse clients, you will like this position!
IT staff members are encouraged and expected to develop and grow their skills to match the needs of the institution, and to help others grow, too. Recognizing that technology is continually changing, the Senior Security Analyst participates in regular professional development and in the larger professional security community as well.
