The purpose of the position is to prepare Medicare cost reports, provide center level cost report analysis and audit support, and to assist with external reporting related to cost reporting to ensure departmental goals and objectives are achieved, in alignment with DaVita's Mission and Core Values.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist in the preparation of annual and/or interim Medicare cost reports.
- Assist in the interpretation/research of reimbursement issues and accounting for cost reporting initiatives.
- Provide and lead cost reporting and intermediate accounting support to general ledger functions such as journal entry preparation, support account analysis, and cash research.
- Assist and perform cost report audits, as well as prepare and support any appeals, correspond and deal effectively with fiscal intermediaries, and other third-party agencies to resolve complex disputes, including filing issues, denials, penalty assessments, withholds, etc.
- Interact with other departments and explain and resolve cost reporting issues.
- Perform a wide variety of recurring and non-recurring intermediate complex cost reporting functions.
- Research basic cost reporting issues and process improvements.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree (B.A.) with an emphasis in Business, Accounting, or Finance, or 1-2 years of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience in an accounting or healthcare organization.
- Experience and proficiency with MS Office applications, and ability to learn new internal systems and tools.
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills with ability to probe, question, and listen attentively.
- Ability to read and interpret general business communications.

Salary/Wage Range:
$56,500.00-$83,000.00 / year. Compensation for the role will depend on a number of factors, including a candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies, and experience and may fall outside of the range shown.
