About the Role
We are seeking a Financial Analyst with a robust accounting background to join our Finance department. This role focuses on financial analyses, reporting, and ensuring the integrity of our financial data. You will collaborate with the financial team to provide accurate and timely financial information to management, contributing to the overall financial health of the company.
Responsibilities
- Analyze financial data and prepare reports, including:
- Budget comparisons
- Profit analyses
- Operations reviews
- Partner with the Controller and CFO to provide time-sensitive and accurate financial reporting to the corporate parent on a monthly, quarterly, half-yearly, annual, and ad-hoc basis.
- Update and maintain the rolling 12-month financial forecast.
- Generate the monthly internal financial statement package, ensuring the accuracy of all accounting data, and enter reports into Cognos.
- Manage and complete the half-year and full-year Stat Pack submission to Group.
- Oversee year-end tax reporting and analysis, ensuring compliance with tax regulations.
- Prepare and monitor actuals vs. forecast vs. budget, and analyze variances, providing detailed explanations to departmental management and the executive team.
- Provide financial support to project managers and department heads, ensuring accurate accounting and reporting.
- Assist in the month-end close process, including journal entries, reconciliations, and the review of financial reports.
- Assist in the preparation of weekly cash forecasts and the annual budget.
- Support internal and external financial and compliance audits.
- Monitor and enhance internal controls, policies, and procedures, with a focus on accounting compliance.
- Undertake other related duties and special projects as determined by management.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (preferred) or Finance; a Master’s Degree and/or CPA certification is highly desirable.
- 2-5 years of financial analysis experience, with a strong emphasis on accounting principles. Experience in manufacturing or public accounting is a plus.
- Strong computer skills, with expert-level proficiency in Excel spreadsheet modeling and financial statement reporting tools. Cognos and Power BI experience are a plus.
- Experience using Microsoft Dynamics D365 is a plus.
- Knowledge of Government Cost Accounting Standards (CAS) and/or IFRS is a plus.
- Excellent organizational, written, and oral communication skills.
- Strong strategic thinking, problem-solving, and analytical abilities.
- Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with individuals at all levels.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Must be eligible to possess explosives under the Safe Explosives Act of 2003 (as amended) as required by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms (ATF) for all employees of Chemring Energetic Devices.
