PAY RANGE
The Target Pay Range for this position is $120,600-$147,200 annually. The full Pay Range is $93,800-$174,000 annually. At BECU, compensation decisions are determined using factors such as relevant job-related skills, experience, and education or training. Should an offer for employment be made, we will consider individual qualifications. In addition to your salary, compensation incentives are available for the hired applicant. Incentives are performance based and targets vary by role.

As the Manager Accounting at BECU, you will have an exciting opportunity to lead and manage various accounting functions, ensuring compliance with GAAP principles and regulatory requirements. Your expertise and strong leadership abilities will be crucial in optimizing financial processes, controls, and documentation.

You will also serve as a key liaison, actively collaborating with stakeholders to provide accounting expertise and make valuable contributions to significant projects and initiatives.
What You'll Do
- Lead and Develop: Foster a culture of growth by coaching, mentoring, and training your team members. Conduct timely personnel evaluations and provide constructive feedback to encourage their professional development.
- Ensure Compliance: Review department work to ensure compliance with GAAP, regulatory requirements, and established processes/procedures. Verify the completeness, appropriate classification, and adequacy of supporting documentation.
- Perform Financial Processes: Coordinate and perform various financial processes, such as producing financial and regulatory reports, conducting audits, preparing journal entries, reconciling accounts, analyzing financial data, and drafting narratives or footnote disclosures.
- Assess and Improve: Proactively assess, analyze, and update financial issues and internal controls. Assist Credit Union departments with operational accounting issues. Make recommendations to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
- Manage Chart of Accounts and Support Annual Planning: Oversee the maintenance process for the chart of accounts or directly manage and coordinate with stakeholders in Finance to ensure proper approval and documentation of change requests. Collaborate with stakeholders in Finance and business units to provide subject matter expertise and sound judgment in establishing assumptions and modeling data during the annual planning process.
- Utilize Data Tools: Develop and maintain a working knowledge of enterprise data and data tools to effectively and efficiently utilize data in executing your responsibilities.
Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent work or education-related experience required.
- Minimum of four years of accounting experience plus a minimum one year of leadership experience required.
- Working knowledge of GAAP with ability to learn regulatory requirements required.
Desired Qualifications
- CPA or CMA certification preferred.
