Join our dynamic Institutional Retirement Solutions (IRS) finance team as a Financial Reporting Accountant. You'll work with a diverse range of clients, focusing on the retirement recordkeeping market and reinsurance. Our team partners with a third-party administrator to prepare GAAP and Statutory financial statements. You'll collaborate closely with internal and external auditors, and prepare various schedules and exhibits for reporting requirements, including rating agency presentations and internal data for senior management.
Responsibilities Include But Not Limited To
- Prepares monthly Retirement Recordkeeping reinsurance financial statements and reporting; and ensures timely and accurate processing.
- Ensures the accuracy of accounting transactions processed.
- Prepares accounting samples for Retirement Recordkeeping transactions to be used as requirements for development of automated accounting feeds.
- Develops and documents procedures for testing changes to automated accounting feeds, provides feedback and ensures accuracy of accounting.
- Supports the preparation and communication of financial information for auditors, insurance examiners, rating agencies, insurance agencies, and company leaders.
- Participates in projects related to financial reporting or financial contracts.
- Reconciles monthly settlement statements and financials from third party administrator.
- Liaison for reinsurance relationship with third party administrator. Partners on financial reconciliations and collaborates to resolve accounting issues.
- Identifies opportunities for and leads implementation of process improvements.
Qualifications
- Accounting experience with exposure to statutory, management-based, tax and GAAP for financial reporting and budgeting.
- Bachelor’s degree (preferably in Accounting, Finance, or Math).
- Demonstrated initiative to serve as a resource for team members and independently manage projects.
- Written and verbal communication skills to provide superior customer service to a variety of business partners.
- Demonstrated analytical skills to review and analyze financial statements and reports.
- Understanding the structure of the data within financial and administration systems.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to effectively multi-task and meet prescribed deadlines on a continuous basis.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of insurance concepts and products.
- Reinsurance accounting experience.

The Estimated Base Pay Range For This Job Is
$56,000.00 - $103,000.00
