Description
We are currently seeking a Sr. Accountant to join our plant in Cedarburg, WI. In this role you will be responsible for maintaining and validating the integrity of financial results for the assigned Kemp manufacturing plant and cross functional departments. You will complete accounting transactions in accordance with generally accepted accounting practices and in compliance with Company policies and procedures.

Core Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To
- Ensure all financial and operational transactions are accurately captured. Establish and nurture relationships within office and manufacturing locations.
- Prepare monthly journal entries. Utilize a high level of confidentiality to process complex, non-recurring journal entries.
- Verify, review, reconcile and audit all supporting schedules and ledgers for system interfaces to the general ledger.
- Perform monthly reconciliations for designated accounts, monitoring financials for discrepancies and trends.
- Utilize professional accounting and technical knowledge, accurately prepares financial statements (e.g., balance sheet, income statement, supplementary management schedules) and consolidating reports.
- Provide parent company communication including monthly reporting, administer inter-company entries and ad-hoc requests.
- Research and resolve problems pertaining to accounting systems and records, ensuring compliance with Company policies and procedures.
- Provide clarity in a professional manner when questioned about financial data. Offers practical insight to address concerns raised by account contributors, Financial Analysts, and management.
- Respond to ad-hoc requests from auditors (annual or interim), banks, Parent Company, tax preparers, governmental agencies, etc. Understand and respond to the urgency of providing timely and complete information to these requests.
- Respond to internal ad-hoc requests for information.
- Possess a thorough understanding of GAAP principles and DFA Accounting Policies; interpret complex accounting transactions and implement best practices.
- Complete various continuous improvement and special projects as determined by business needs.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in accounting required. CPA or CMA is a plus.
- 3+ years of general accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing industry. Consumer-packaged goods industry experience is desired.
- Cost and Inventory accounting experience is required.
- Advanced computer proficiency in MS Excel. ERP system experience, i.e. JDE is a plus.
- Strong interpersonal skills, including verbal and written communication and listening.
