Position Summary
Under general supervision, the Senior Financial Analyst position is responsible for supporting ongoing treasury operations and risk and tax management, coordinating with third parties as required.
Location: Hybrid, Southside Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania
Responsibilities
- Monitor and analyze the company’s daily cash position to cover cash commitments, coordinate and optimize short-term borrowing or investments or assist in the execution of the daily cash management duties.
- Lead and assist with Treasury projects, and initiatives.
- Adhere to month-end cut-off schedules for reconciliations of all cash-related accounts, all month-end processes, and all related journal entries.
- Assist in executing letters of credit, performance and bid bonds, insurance certificates and similar instruments.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports on the cash position.
- Monitor and perform cash management and risk management activities to ensure compliance with internal controls, company policy, and regulation, such as that required by the National Automated Clearing House Association.
- Develop, monitor, and analyze bank fees, including credit card and cash management expenses.
- Maintain positive banking relationships with depository banks.
- Manage the tax program, including a comprehensive calendar outlining filing dates and schedules, coordination with third parties (as required), and driving accurate and timely tax submissions for sales and use, property, gross receipts, franchise, income and other tax types in various jurisdictions.
- Support and administer the insurance program required within the company’s risk mitigation function, and coordinating with third party broker for annual billing, renewals, and other support.
- Support accounting, payroll, tax, financial planning, internal and external auditors, and other functions as they relate to treasury transactions, insurance programming and tax requirements.
Education/Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, or Finance.
- In lieu of a bachelor’s degree, a commensurate combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Three (3) or more years’ experience in a financial or accounting position with an emphasis on utility/telecommunications industry or public accounting.
- Professional certification (CPA, CMA, CGMA) is preferred.

Scope
Primary focus is on daily deliverables, outputs, and reporting. Typically, accountable for managing one’s own time and workflow. Responsible for using prescribed guidelines to analyze situations and solve problems. Work activities are typically moderate to complex in nature, requiring the incumbent to draw on previous knowledge to perform role. Continues to build knowledge base but has a solid foundation to act independently most of the time. Draws on experts and managers when needed.

Physical Requirements

- Occasional travel within driving distance.
Hybrid Work
Position follows our hybrid work model, with a minimum of two days working in the office and the remaining days working remotely. Reporting location and frequency may be subject to change based on job role and department needs.
Data Governance
Utilize data to make business decisions as appropriate for the position, support data stewardship activities, and partner with IT (Information Technology) on underlying data needs.
