ROLE OVERVIEW
The Financial Associate will report to the Senior Director, Corporate Finance, supporting corporate capital transactions and forecasting across the broader Finance department. This includes but is not limited to complex financial modeling, associated project-level and corporate diligence, and supporting the Senior Director in developing the corporate capital structuring and planning process.
The Finance department operates in a very dynamic environment, and we are looking for a passionate, creative individual who enjoys thinking outside the box to deliver the most optimal set of outcomes for the company. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Create, update, and maintain complex financial models that include project-level detail and all associated levels of the capital stack
- Review and advise on project and capital structure attributes that work towards optimal financial outcomes
- Support various capital raising transaction activities, including diligence work and data room management
- Build reports (Salesforce) and spreadsheets (Excel) to support market-level and project-level financial modeling
- Utilize and expand on internal tools to enhance project development activities
- Support the larger Finance department with special projects as needed
- Self-motivate and engage in further learning about renewable energy markets
REQUIRED COMPETENCIES
- 1-3 years of corporate finance, investment banking, project finance, or relevant work experience
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
- Understanding of project finance concepts and complex capital structures
- Passion to learn new things through self-study and structured settings
- Exceptional interpersonal skills with an aptitude for building trust and rapport
PREFERRED COMPETENCIES
- Experience in the solar industry
- Experience with tax equity
- Previous project finance and/or M&A experience
$60,000 - $90,000 a year
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
The base salary range for this position is $60,000-$90,000 depending on relevant experience, along with eligibility for the company’s substantial bonus plan, with a target bonus of 30% of annual salary (prorated in the first year based on start date).
