Position Overview: We are seeking a highly experienced and motivated Manager of Investment Accounting to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of investment accounting activities within the company. The successful candidate will possess strong technical expertise in accounting principles, extensive knowledge of investment products, and proven leadership skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the investment accounting team, providing guidance, support, and mentorship to ensure the team achieves its goals and objectives.
- Oversee the preparation and analysis of investment accounting reports, including financial statements, regulatory filings, and management reports.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, regulatory requirements, and internal policies related to investment accounting.
- Develop and implement policies, procedures, and controls to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of investment accounting processes.
- Collaborate with other departments, including finance, treasury, and risk management, to support investment-related initiatives and projects.
- Act as a subject matter expert on investment accounting matters, providing guidance and advice to internal stakeholders as needed.
- Stay informed about industry developments, trends, and best practices related to investment accounting and communicate relevant insights to management.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field; CPA or CFA designation preferred.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in investment accounting within the insurance or financial services industry, with a strong understanding of life and health insurance products.
- Proven leadership experience, with the ability to effectively manage and develop a team of professionals.
- In-depth knowledge of accounting principles, standards, and regulations, particularly as they relate to investments.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to interpret and analyze complex financial data.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and senior management.
- Demonstrated ability to adapt to changing priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
