Job Summary
The Senior Accountant is responsible for ensuring the integrity of accounting information; compliance with the Company's annual budget and financial policies.
Duties & Responsibilities
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Keeps records of account entries by compiling and analyzing accounting activities.
- Prepares reports such as balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and other documents that project the organization's financial position.
- Perform monthly P&L review against the trend and budget/forecast.
- Assist in year-end audit and quarterly reviews with external auditors.
- Compiles the SOX and Internal Control checklists in a timely and correct manner.
- Reviews financial statements for completeness, accuracy, and compliance.
- Coordinates accounting matters with other departments.
Additional Duties & Responsibilities
- Initiates and correlates projects and reports.
- Ad hoc projects as needed.
Supervisory Responsibilities
- No supervisory responsibilities.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in accounting.
- CPA or MBA preferred but not required.
- 3+ years of relevant accounting experience: public accounting experience or experience in large public company corporate accounting department.
- Experience in Healthcare preferred but not required.
Knowledge, Skills & Proficiencies
- Advanced knowledge of computer programs, particularly Microsoft Excel.
- PIVOT TABLE; VLOOKUP; SUMIF(S); CONCATENATE, ETC.
- Strong Data manipulation and reconciliation skills.
- Ability to work accurately in a fast-paced, deadline intensive environment.
- Strong knowledge of US GAAP.
- Self-starter, able to work with minimal to no supervision.
- Ability to pay close attention to detail and to ensure accuracy of reports and data.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in Spanish preferred but not required.

This position works under usual office conditions. The employee is required to work at a personal computer as well as be on the phone for extended periods of time. Must be able to stand, sit, walk and occasionally climb. The incumbent must be able to work extended and flexible hours and weekends as needed.
