POSITION: Junior Financial Analyst

Across our portfolio of live event venues and corporate offices, we are seeking a Junior Financial Analyst at the Broward County Convention Center. As the Junior Financial Analyst, you will assist in the preparation and analysis of financial reports, budgets, and forecasts.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist with evaluating historical and current financial data to understand the company’s financial condition.
- Establish industry-specific business trends and research data.
- Assist DOF in writing data-backed reports to support the management team in taking strategic business decisions.
- Work with DOF in developing financial models that forecast business outcomes and profits.
- Perform variance analysis to identify differences between planned and actual financial performance. Work with actual, budget and forecast to create various analytical reports.
- Maintain and update capital expenditures. Track financial data and alert DOF in case of deviation.
- Run financial reports from accounting system.
- Perform various financial transaction tasks in Excel.
- Check for accuracy of figures and data on worksheet.
- Maintain detailed transaction files and research discrepancies. Other duties as assigned.
Education and/or Experience
- Associate degree in Accounting or similar field. Two (2) to three (3) years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience required. 0-2 years of experience in financial analysis, accounting, or a related role. Understand and apply standard accounting principles, financial control procedures, computerized accounting systems/software, and financial management preferred.

- Excellent reporting, presenting and communication skills. Ability to work with large datasets.
Computer Skills
- Proficiency with MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and Outlook.
- Experience in accounting software package is preferred.
- Solomon and D365 File Maker Pro is a plus.
