The Senior Analyst, as part of the Crew Resources Planning team, will ensure sufficient future staffing levels for the Flight Ops and Inflight operational groups. In doing so, the Senior Analyst will develop, use, and maintain workforce planning systems and perform various scheduled and ad-hoc analyses to drive an operable and profitable airline. In addition to strategizing and analyzing crew resourcing scenarios from a micro and macro level, the Senior Analyst will implement tools and resources that will help make effective decisions that impact key company performance metrics. They may also occasionally work on similar projects for other hourly operational groups.
Essential Responsibilities
- Develop short-to-long term staffing plans for Flight Ops and Inflight operational groups.
- Use, improve, and maintain workforce reporting, planning and optimization systems.
- Support operational and financial efficiency projects for Flight Ops, Inflight, and JetBlue University (JBU).
- Support budget and goal development for Flight Ops, Inflight, and JBU.
- Develop and support workforce strategies and ad-hoc studies by conducting data based analyses.
- Builds and fosters relationships with internal and external customers.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Experience and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Operations Research, Computer Science, Engineering or related; OR demonstrated capability to perform job responsibilities with a combination of a High School Diploma/GED and at least four (4) years of previous relevant work experience.
- Three (3) years of analytical or related experience.
- Demonstrated Excel, problem solving, and analytical skills through an onsite work sample.
- Strong capabilities with Microsoft Office Products: Word, Advanced Excel (for example pivot tables, complex formulas etc.), and PowerPoint.
- Prior experience with programming languages similar to SQL, R, Python, Java etc.
- Distinctive problem solving and analytical skills combined with business judgment and the ability to communicate with senior leadership.
- Self-starter who is eager to participate, contribute to, and lead multi-team projects.
- Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
- Available for overnight travel (10%).
- Must pass a pre-employment drug test.
- Must be legally eligible to work in the country in which the position is located.
- Authorization to work in the US is required. This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship.
Preferred Experience and Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Business, Finance, Operations Research, Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent.
- Strong capabilities with a programming language, such as Python, Java etc.
- General experience in airline crew planning, which may include understanding Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs), working with a Preferential Bidding System (PBS) and applying collective bargaining agreement clauses.
- Prior experience in a role working with stakeholders, using analytical methods to evaluate solutions with competing objectives.
- Experience with short-to-long range workforce planning concepts, systems and techniques.
- Familiarity with advanced analytics and optimization models, for example, linear and integer programming, simulation, machine learning.

- Able to maintain a professional appearance.
- When working or traveling on JetBlue flights, and if time permits, all capable Crewmembers are asked to assist with light cleaning of the aircraft.

Compensation
- The base pay range for this position is between $64,000.00 and $103,100.00 per year. Base pay is one component of JetBlue’s total compensation package, which may also include access to healthcare benefits, a 401(k) plan and company match, crewmember stock purchase plan, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, free space available travel on JetBlue, and more.
