Holland & Hart is seeking a Certified Public Accountant to join the firm in its Denver, Boise, or Salt Lake City office.
This position will work closely with Private Client Group attorneys and CPAs to provide expert advice to clients and their advisors regarding gift, estate, GST, and income tax issues and fiduciary accounting matters (billable and non-billable).
Responsibilities include
• Works and consults with attorneys, CPAs, clients and their advisors on a wide variety of gift, estate, GST, trust and individual tax matters, including planning, estate administration and compliance.
• Coordinates a wide range of projects, ensuring that tasks are completed timely and without direct supervision. This position requires prompt follow-through, attention to detail and ability to prioritize projects.
• Works as a key member of a team-oriented group of paralegals, CPAs, associates and partners.
• Works closely and directly with clients’ outside CPAs, family offices and other advisors.
• Researches and analyzes gift, estate, GST and income tax issues.
• Prepares balance sheets and cash flow and financial projections to illustrate proposed estate or wealth transfer planning transactions for clients.
• Prepares and/or reviews gift, estate and fiduciary income tax returns and fiduciary accountings.
• Reviews appraisals of transfers of hard-to-value assets for gift and estate tax returns.
• Maintains or exceeds billable hours requirements.
• Stays up to date on all tax laws and implications.
Qualifications (Education, Experience and Certification)
• Certified Public Accountant
• Minimum of 3 years of tax experience in a professional services capacity or Master of Taxation and interest in growing and developing a long-term career in this area at Holland & Hart.
• Takes ownership of and responsibility for projects.
• Willingness to learn and/or foundational knowledge of individual income tax, fiduciary income tax, gift tax, estate tax and generation-skipping transfer tax.
• Willingness to learn and/or foundational knowledge of fiduciary accounting, partnership tax and S corporation tax preferred.
• Experience with tax research and writing and the creation of balance sheets, cash flow projections and estate tax projections.
• Ability to stay current on tax concepts and changes.
• Proficient at developing creative solutions to complex tax issues.
• Works well within deadlines.
• Ability to multi-task and work effectively under pressure.
• Ability to stay organized and focused on projects with great attention to detail.
• Good interpersonal skills.
• Team-oriented.
• Advanced Excel skills.
• Knowledge of Word and Adobe Acrobat.
• Ability to function productively on software and systems utilized in the firm.
Physical Requirements
While performing the duties of this position, the employee must have the ability to sit, stand and/or walk for extended periods of time; manipulate (lift, carry, move) weights of at least ten (10) pounds; have repetitive wrist/hand/finger movement to work on a computer and/or related office equipment; speak clearly and concisely so listeners can understand; and regularly understand the speech of another person.

Compensation Expectations
Holland & Hart offers of employment take into consideration a candidate’s education, training, and experience, as well as the position's work location, external market and internal value, including seniority and merit systems, and internal pay alignment when determining the salary level for potential new employees. Colorado Salary Range - $100,000 - $185,000 per year. A discretionary bonus may be available based upon performance.
