Our firm is currently looking for a full-time Senior Accountant in our Accounting Controllership Services Department. This position will interact and coordinate with clients to ensure proper accounting treatment, execution of accounting functions and reporting of results. This is a client-facing role that will allow the accountant the opportunity to help the small businesses and non-profits of the communities that we serve to thrive financially!

What you will do in the Senior Accountant role:
- Interact and coordinate with clients to ensure proper accounting treatment, execution of accounting functions and reporting of results.
- Maintain accounting principles, practices and procedures to ensure accurate and timely financial statements.
- Address tight deadlines and a multitude of accounting activities including general ledger preparation, financial reporting, and year-end audit preparation.
- Review discrepancies in data received from clients and request clarification or advise supervisor of issues related to data.
- Interact with departmental and other staff on matters affecting data flow and make recommendations for improvement or enhancement to job processes to ensure standards in data entry, collection and retrieval.
- Accounts payable responsibilities including charging expenses to accounts, recording entries, processing checks, resolving purchase order or invoice discrepancies, verifying vendor accounts, and similar functions.
What you'll bring to the table:
- This position requires a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, or related discipline as well as 3-5 years of experience in a public accounting firm, or related experience.
- The ideal candidate will be a team player who has a desire to expand their accounting knowledge.
- A high level of confidentiality and written and oral communication skills are a must.
- Self-driven, demonstrates initiative and able to multitask and adapt to changing priorities.
- Ability to positively and proactively manage multiple tasks under tight deadlines and thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Positive attitude and excellent relationship building and communication skills, both oral and written.
- High-level analytical, problem-solving and reasoning skills.
- Dedicated to developing and enhancing a team environment.
- Advanced knowledge of MS Office products, especially in MS Outlook and MS Excel skills, is a must.
- Knowledge of CCH Axcess Suite.
- Experience in Tax research.
