We are seeking a Senior Architectural Cost Estimator for airports and other heavy construction projects.
Position Responsibilities:
- Collaborating with clients to understand the estimate expectations, including Phasing, Options, Alternates, and Schedules. Understand the different levels of the estimate, from a ROM estimate to a 100% design estimate.
- Managing a team of Specialists to assemble estimates in clear and concise formats to fit client needs, including conducting pricing research based on regional and global locations, developing unit prices, assessing and responding to global project elements, conducting, cataloging, and sharing quantity takeoff, making justifiable project assumptions and documenting them, and issuing project reports.
- Determine cost by building cost assemblies, including current costs. Accountable for cost and assembly databases, including ensuring consistency, keeping data up-to-date, and maintaining accessibility for staff across the company.
- Produce quality deliverables and supervise the quality of deliverables produced by others, working with both detailed design and planning-level or ROM-level documents. Lead quality management reviews for Connico deliverables.
- Develop others on technical and non-technical topics, share knowledge through the company, and elevate yourself as an expert.
- Maintain client relationships through regular client interface, both on projects and through interaction unrelated to projects. Build a client base that sees you as an expert in the field.
- Lead and manage an internal team to achieve project goals, including on-time delivery of deliverables, producing reports that meet Connico’s core values and high standard of quality, utilizing and training other Connico staff, communicating project changes or challenges to the company, and bringing the project in on budget. Be 100% accountable for the appropriate Connico projects.
- Some travel may be required, including visits to conferences, client offices, project sites, or other company offices.
Qualifications:
- Four-year degree from an accredited institution or equivalent knowledge. Architecture, construction management, engineering, quantity surveying and estimating, or related field.
- 10+ years’ estimating experience in varied market segments, or equivalent knowledge.
- Strong Communication Skills with Clients. A firm understanding of what the estimate expectation should be. Phasing, Options, Alternates, and schedules. Understanding the different levels of the estimate from a ROM estimate up to a 100% Design estimate.
- Ability to interpret a complete set of plans and specifications for all disciplines involved in the project -- architectural, civil, and engineering - both at high levels of design and at the planning stage. Ability to interpret quantity takeoffs and models, and architectural and engineering reports.
- Proven track record of managing, leading and creating estimates on heavy commercial or government projects, including responsibility for timeliness of deliverables, management of budget, integrating elements from multiple divisions, and professionally communicating with clients.
- Proficiency in estimating across multiple formats, including familiarity with CSI Master format, CSI Uniformat, and knowledge of standard terms in estimating.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs and related estimating software programs required (On-Screen Takeoff, MII, or Success).
- Certifications such as CCP, CPE, RICS, CEP are preferred.
- Experience in the aviation market is preferred but not required.
Connico offers a comprehensive compensation package that includes a salary range starting at $140K+ with bonus opportunities as well as continuous growth opportunities. Compensation commensurate with experience and qualifications.
