About the Role
The Actuarial Portfolio Management team within Swiss Re Corporate Solutions is looking to hire an actuary who will support our Admitted and E&S Property segments. The ideal candidate will bring a combination of technical and commercial skills to the role. This individual will lead modeling efforts to identify risk drivers and opportunities for portfolio segmentation, they will look for ways to creatively improve our rating methods using both internal and external data. Separately, this individual will support our business leaders through evaluation and communication of portfolio profitability, pricing of complex accounts, and training business partners on our methods and tools.
About the Team
We are the team providing actuarial and portfolio management support to Corporate Solutions property businesses around the world. We work closely with our business partners to offer portfolio steering support based on data-driven decisions. Team members are encouraged to take ownership of their portfolios, becoming product experts, and advocates for their products to senior management. This role will report directly to the Lead Property Actuary for Corporate Solutions in North America.
About You
- FCAS or ACAS credential from the Casualty Actuarial Society
- Minimum five years of actuarial experience
- Commercial or personal lines property ratemaking experience preferred, but not required
- Experience with predictive modeling and the use of R and/or Python a plus
- Strong work ethic, self-starter, and able to meet defined deliverable dates
- Interest in combining traditional ratemaking methods with new ones that rely on emerging data sets
- Good communication skills and desire to work with actuaries as well as business leaders
