Role
Reporting directly to the Finance Manager, we are looking for a Senior Financial Accountant to assist with the day-to-day management of our accounts teams in Australia and Manilla across both Booktopia and the broader digiDirect Group.
The ideal candidate will have experience and understanding of retail/e-commerce operations and be excited by the prospect of being involved in the ongoing structural development and continued growth of the business.
This is a full-time role working Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm, located at our office and state-of-the-art warehouse in South Strathfield. Free parking available onsite.
Responsibilities
- Experience managing end-to-end accounting
- Balance sheet accounts reconciliations, and where required take ownership and be able to build up templates, structures independently
- Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable review and management
- Preparation of BAS for Booktopia and/or digiDirect
- Financial reporting on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis
- Month end Journals and reconciliations
- Assist in mentoring a team of accounting staff in Australia and Manilla
- Oversee and review accounting roles and operations to ensure their accuracy
- Manage workflow and check all key elements
- Full reporting on a monthly, quarterly, and yearly basis
- Prepare EOM management reports
- Work with Department Heads in identifying and optimising purchasing opportunities, payment terms, settlements discounts, rebates, and commission payments
- Preparation of internal reports and General Ledger maintenance
Skills & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance and Accounting or similar
- CA/CPA Qualified
- 5+ years of experience in a commercial setting, retailer/e-commerce preferable
- Excellent financial and analytical skills
- Experience with Pronto (or an ERP) highly advantageous
- A positive attitude, strong work ethic, and ability to direct and motivate staff
- Experience using Xero, XPM, and Excel including VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, SUMIF
- Excellent time management and organisational skills
- Strong attention to detail & effective communication skills (both verbal and written)
- Ability to use your own initiative to manage and prioritise tasks
- The skill to work in a team environment, build and foster strong relationships
