INVISTA is currently seeking a new team member who will join as an Economics & Planning (E&P) Planner to drive/lead the Production Planning and Optimization for our polypropylene business in Longview, TX. This role requires influential leadership, commercial acumen, and collaboration capability. Successful candidates must be able to develop and drive optimal production plans, including understanding of key risks, opportunities, and constraints. The E&P Planner will be part of the business' E&P capability which is also responsible for developing business strategy, business analysis, advancing economic and critical thinking skills, and transforming the business.
This role may be located at our facility in Longview, TX (preferred) or in Wichita, KS with travel to the site as required.
What You Will Do
Manage Production Planning and Scheduling for polypropylene business including:
- Integration of demand forecasts, market point of views, and advanced analytics into work processes.
- Development of optimized production plans that include a product portfolio, production sequence, constraint analysis, run lengths, and base inventory.
- Coordination of scenario analysis, opportunity framing and decision support in market demand and asset planning.
- Integration with upstream raw material supply and downstream operations manufacturing.
- Make key economic metrics transparent that drive improved profitability (Ex: product transition, downtime, production utilization, forecast accuracy).
- Use, maintain, and upgrade current planning systems/knowledge systems and implement technology to improve speed and effectiveness of decision making.
- Establish, maintain, and nurture business partnerships with key internal counterparties across the entire supply chain.
- Collaborate with operations and commercial capabilities on performance actuals vs assumptions and communicate the financial impact while being a part of the solution focused on continuous improvement.
- Integrate newly developed polypropylene products into the production sequence, working with Longview's operations, R&D, and quality capabilities.
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
- Bachelor's Degree.
- 2+ years of experience in planning, scheduling, supply chain, finance, operations, business analysis or closely related experience.
- Experience leading by indirect/direct influence.
- Ability to travel up to 15% of time.
- This role is not eligible for visa sponsorship.
What Will Put You Ahead
- 5+ years of experience working in a petrochemical plant.
- Experience analyzing KPI's and performing root cause analysis.
- Experience with an ERP System (Ex: SAP, Oracle, JD Edwards or similar).
- Experience in using advanced analytics to drive better business decisions.
