Health in Tech (HIT) is reimagining and simplifying the way self-funded health plans are designed, priced and packaged for small to mid-sized companies. We are a fast-growing company combining the expertise of software developers, reinsurance specialists, insurance administrators and health-care providers to challenge the high-cost of health insurance for businesses and dramatically simplify the buying process.
This is a remote position.
Responsibilities
- Work with captive manager and carrier to report insurance premium written, premium unearned and earned premium.
- Partner with claims department and actuary to support IBNR estimate.
- Track and qualify enrollments.
- Cashflow monitoring and reporting.
- Work with CFO to prepare premium forecast.
- Coordinate audits with external auditors to prepare quarterly and annual reports in compliance with applicable insurance state requirements and capital requirements.
- Drive continuous improvement in financial reporting processes.
- Review minutes of meetings and contracts to ensure financial statements accurately reflect activities.
- Review audited annual and unaudited interim accounts.
- Review and analyze quarterly financial statements.
Required Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience in healthcare insurance accounting (stop-loss insurance is a plus).
- Minimum 7 years' accounting and/or finance experience (experience with a public company a plus).
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Economics or related field.
- Proficient in Oracle and/or Quickbooks.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
