Job Summary

For the FP&A Analyst position, this commitment is to ensure integrity in the budgeting/forecasting and profitability analysis processes for Northwest Indiana Bancorp (NASDAQ: NWIN), while also maintaining stability for safety and soundness examinations for interest rate risk, liquidity, stress testing, and capital compliance for Peoples Bank (FDIC Certificate Number: 29523). This position is for highly motivated and focused individuals who are interested in being part of a fast paced and hardworking team of accounting, finance, banking, and systems professionals.
Responsibilities
- Provides senior management and executives with the analysis and information they need to make major operational financial, and strategic decisions.
- Operates the annual budgeting process by managing the collection of key inputs into the Axiom budgeting and rolling forecast systems and uses them for reporting and analysis to the Organizational Profitability Team and Strategic Planning Team.
- Performs analysis of NWIN stock performance and prepares results for dissemination to the Organizational Profitability Team and Strategic Planning Team.
- Monthly monitoring and analysis of ZM Financial Online ALM modeling and Axiom net interest margin reporting against budget and forecasts for organizational profitability.
- Supports monthly and quarterly calculation, projection, analysis, and reporting of interest rate risk, liquidity, and capital position for Enterprise Risk Management Committee.
- Supports the development of balance sheet management strategies for Profitability Committee through the development and analysis of ZM Financial Online ALM cash flow engine and Axiom reporting platforms.
- Supports the funds and liquidity management process by analyzing and providing reporting on competitor interest rates and peer analysis from the S&P Global Market Intelligence, ZM Financial Online ALM modeling, and Axiom reporting platforms.
- Models bank acquisitions with the use ZM Financial Online ALM cash flow engine for interest bearing assets and liabilities and uses Axiom for modeling noninterest income and expense and taxes.
- Supports the corporate treasury management process and the Contingency Funding Plan.
- Monthly monitoring and analysis of noninterest income against budget and projections for organizational profitability.
- Monthly monitoring and analysis staffing model results against budget and projections to ensure accuracy in organizational profitability reporting.
- Manages the accounts payable process to ensure accuracy in organizational profitability reporting.
- Maintain and update financial service products sold by the Bank and key product profitability assumptions to ensure timely and accurate reporting of product profitability.
- Assists in the development of customer profitability.
- Coordinates timely asset liability modeling validations with external parties and internal audit.
- Maintains accuracy of the bank regulatory reporting process and provides updates on changes for the Call Report (041), Y9-SP, Summary of Deposits, and FR 2900 to the Controller and implements changes with the Financial Systems Team.
- Monitor budgeted projects and report results to manager and Organizational Profitability Team.
- Perform additional analytics, reporting, or other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance is required and Master of Business Administration or Masters of Accountancy is preferred.
- CPA or CFA preferred, or willingness to the attainment of the CPA or CFA within 3 or 4 years, respectively.
- Other certifications, such as Financial Modeling and Valuation Analyst certification, preferred or willingness to attain.
- Experience in Interest Rate Risk Management and Asset Liability Management are required.
- 2 - 5 years of Financial Planning and Analysis experience (experience in the accounts payable process in a corporate setting is also helpful).
- 3-5 years of banking experience in a similar role is preferred.
- Skilled with Microsoft Excel, including formulas, formatting, page layout, filtering, and views. Proficient with Microsoft PowerPoint, Outlook, and Word.
- Highly organized; ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously.
- Ability to communicate analysis effectively through verbal and written communication.
- Ability to be highly accurate while working under tight deadlines.
