The Staff Accountant is a key member of our finance department, managing day-to-day accounting for financial transactions and month-end reporting activities. This role also encompasses various other tasks as determined by department management, aligned with the business needs of the company and the accounting department.
Salary Range: $67,000 - $75,000 / Year + Bonus
Shift Time: 8:00 am - 5:00 pm or as needed
Schedule: Monday - Friday

Core Responsibilities
- Uphold the mission, values, and vision of the company.
- Prepare and record general journal entries for month-end close processes and as needed, including auditable supporting documentation.
- Reconcile balance sheet accounts, ensuring reasonableness, appropriateness, and necessary adjustments with auditable documentation.
- Generate month-end reporting book pages, ensuring accuracy and timeliness to provide valuable information to management and other internal users.
- Complete monthly bank reconciliations for assigned accounts, investigating and resolving unreconciled differences.
- Assist with banking activities, such as preparing/approving electronic payments and preparing daily banking sheets for internal management reporting.
- Prepare payroll-related journal postings and reconciliations, working closely with HR/Payroll and the payroll system to ensure accurate posting of payroll and payroll tax-related activities.
- Prepare and record monthly depreciation entries; maintain and update Plant, Property, and Equipment (PP&E) schedules as well as Construction in Progress (CIP) schedules.
- Support the company’s travel and expense policy by auditing transactions for compliance and processing monthly expense reports through SAP Concur.
- Participate in the annual financial statement audit, including coordinating with the audit team and cross-departmental data collection.
Requirements
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word at an intermediate level.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality with sensitive information.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Excellent organizational, planning, and time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize work.
- Ability to develop and maintain positive working relationships across departments, fostering a cooperative environment.
- Strong communication skills for effective interaction with internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written and oral form.
- Accountable and dependable, with consistent attendance and timeliness, and the ability to work overtime as needed to meet workload and responsibilities.
Education And/or Experience
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university, preferably in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 2 years of experience preferred, but not required.
