Position Purpose:
The Staff Accountant will play a crucial role in maintaining accurate and timely financial records and ensuring compliance with accounting standards.
Essential Job Results:
- Facilitate the daily, monthly and yearly maintenance of general ledger accounting records to assure integrity, accuracy and timeliness of accounting information.
- Prepares general ledger entries by maintaining records and files as well as reconciling accounts.
- Performs month-end closing processes, including but not limited to preparation of journal entries, reconciliation of various balance sheet accounts including analyzing postings to the account, assessing for reasonableness and appropriateness, and recording adjustments as necessary.
- Completion of bank reconciliations monthly for all Company-wide accounts. Investigation and resolution of unreconciled differences, as applicable.
- Crosstrain on all accounting processes and other accounting functions as required.
- Assist with evaluating credit risk and administering and enforcing credit and collections policies and procedures.
- Reviews, prepares, and analyzes accounts receivable aging and accounts payable aging reports.
- Analyzes information and options by developing spreadsheet reports.
- Ensures the company complies with state tax laws by calculating monthly sales tax, processing quarterly estimated payments, and filing tax forms.
- Complete job billing and lien releases.
- Complete Annual 1099’s, Business Licenses, and Unsecured Personal Property 571L.
- Direct support to Director of Finance.

Education and/or Experience:
- Associate’s degree in accounting, bachelor’s degree in accounting is preferred.
- Two + years’ experience with general staff accounting.

Compensation:
- Pay is based on experience.
- Health benefits the first of the month following sixty (60) days of continuous employment.
- 401K option is available after ninety (90) days of continuous employment.
