Director of Accounting
Join our dynamic team as the Director of Accounting, where you will oversee the accounting operations of our organization. This key executive role will report directly to the CFO and is responsible for implementing robust financial controls and reporting systems, fostering transparency and accountability across our construction company's financial activities.
Primary Responsibilities
- Present monthly financial packages to the executive team.
- Lead, teach, and promote financial literacy across the organization.
- Direct all operational accounting processes.
- Implement standard procedures to ensure controls and financial accuracy.
- Develop financial management strategies to maximize profitability and growth.
- Support the CFO in all M&A activities, including due diligence, financial modeling, and post-merger integration.
- Manage organizational structure including a strategic hiring plan that aligns with anticipated company growth.
- Ensure that the accounting department continuously promotes Keeley values and the mission.
- Maintain integrity, objectivity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
- Manage the annual financial statement audit as well as any audits from taxing authorities.
- Establish, maintain, and monitor internal controls around accounting and financial reporting.
- Drive financial discipline across all functions.
- Conduct projected vs actual performance analysis.
- Review balance sheet reconciliation processes.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance plus a minimum of five years of accounting experience in construction or related industry.
- CPA or CMA designation preferred.
- Strong leadership and management skills in directing an organization.
- Self-motivated.
- Eager to learn, and to teach/mentor.
- Proficient in financial modeling and forecasting.
- Advanced skillset in Microsoft Excel.
- Experience interfacing at all levels throughout an organization.
