Title: Business Analyst
Location: ALTA is supporting direct-hire roles working onsite for a client located in the Minneapolis, MN area.
Job Summary
Performs the analysis, planning, requirements gathering and logical design of a software product by working with internal and external customers. Understands the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and develops an understanding of current products and technology in order to design and implement solutions to meet business needs.

Education
- Minimum of 4 Year / Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, a related field, or the equivalent education and/or experience is preferred.
Experience Required
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant and progressive professional experience in software application development, product management, or business systems analysis.
Preferred Other Experience
- Possess and have ability to apply knowledge of principles, practices, and procedures.
- Solid written and verbal communication skills with an emphasis on confidentiality, tact, and diplomacy to communicate effectively with employees, adjusters, agencies, agents, the State Departments of Insurance and the general public. Maintaining professionalism at all times.
- Advanced organizational and analytical skills; demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Business Process Knowledge – understanding of the related activities or tasks that are needed to produce a specific service or project.
- Analytical Thought Process – ability to think in a logical, step-by-step manner and come to a conclusion or solution to a problem.
- Problem resolution – awareness of the need for problem resolution, the ability to identify and gather the critical resources needed to make a decision, and the facilitation skills to bring the group to an overall consensus.

- Familiarity with relational database concepts and client-server concepts.
- Ability to apply an understanding of one tool to other similar tools.

- Knowledge of and ability to use most of the major features of a tool.
- Understanding of how a change to a component affects the system as a whole.
- Solid understanding of the software platforms, operating systems and technologies that are used by ProAg.
- Actively participates in the creation of the technical design and architecture for a feature/s of a product.
- Knowledgeable of industry changes, legal updates, and technical developments related to applicable area of the Company’s business to proactively respond to changing business environment.
- Intermediate proficiency and experience using Microsoft Office package (Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Word).
- Possesses developing analytical skills, as well as an aptitude for decision-making and problem-solving.
