Position: Senior Financial Analyst
Department: Finance
Work Location: New York, NY, Hybrid (work 3 days onsite)
Hybrid Schedule: Helen of Troy associates enjoy the advantages and flexibility of a hybrid working model, allowing for in office 3 days minimum, and remote 2 days. Any changes to this working model would be communicated accordingly.
What you will be doing:
To provide and present timely, accurate, insightful and actionable business intelligence to Division Management to support achievement of strategic business goals.
- Monthly departmental reporting and variance analysis
- Timely delivery in accordance with monthly and quarterly close calendars
- Concise performance overviews of reported information
- Informative variance analysis and recommended plans of action, if applicable
- Facilitate meeting of business leaders to establish high-level budget targets, and deliver to all budget owners at outset of detailed budget work
- Develop and deliver easy-to-use budget templates, with current year forecast comparisons, to all budget owners
- Develop and supervise progress against divisional budget creation calendar
- Present budget roll-up to supply chain and finance leaders, with recommendations for modifications
- Achieving completion milestones against budget calendar from start to finish
- Favorable feedback from budget owners regarding partnership support
- Timely and very accurate budget templates creation and delivery to budget owners
- Develop and deliver succinct ad-hoc analyses
- Creatively identify ways to supplement requested analyses to make more meaningful
- Consistently deliver ad-hoc analysis on original commitment date
- Provide timely updates of forecasted divisional financial performance
- Develop tools to improve efficiency and accuracy of forecasts
- Confirmed accuracy of forecast mechanics based on hindsight reviews
- Clearly articulated forecast assumptions that can be reviewed against actuals to understand nature of variances
- Provide recommendations for cost savings or other improvements to de-risk forecast outcome
- Review and enhance Excel reporting tools used by Planning groups to improve efficiency and data integrity
- Identify and create new reporting tools to eliminate manual tasks performed by others throughout the Division
- Identifiable improvements in accuracy of reporting provided by Planning teams
- Positive feedback from Division peers on report development partnership
Skills needed to be successful in this role:
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to prepare high-quality work products in a deadline-driven environment
- Outstanding work ethic and the ability to build cross-functional partnerships
- Ability to work with minimal up-front guidance and take ownership of work project(s)
- Execute procedures to create efficiencies and seek out opportunities for process improvement
- Able to work independently and as part of a team as well as balance multiple projects in a fast-paced work environment
- Excellent communication, presentation, and social skills, including verbal and written with an executive presence
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Related Field
- 3+ Years Experience as Financial Analyst or Similar Role
- Highly proficient with Excel and other Microsoft Office Applications
- Proven Competence with ERP System(s)
- Authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis
Preferred Qualifications:
- Consumer Goods Proven Experience
- Experience using and developing reporting from BI systems
In New York City, the standard base pay range for this role is $84,442.30 – $126,663.45 annually. This base pay range is specific to New York City and may not be applicable to other locations. Actual salaries will vary based on several factors, including but not limited to location, experience, skill level, and performance. The range listed is just one component of the total compensation package for employees.
