ResponsibilitiesThe Senior Accountant performs intermediate accounting functions including fiscal interpretation and analysis requiring full professional competencies. They assist the Controller and other accounting staff with a variety of assignments that may include financial, general, tax, contracts, budgets and cost reporting (variance), as well as payroll preparations in conjunction with the payroll team. Essential job responsibilities include:
- Facilitates preparation of monthly and yearly financial statements including all supplemental analysis, generation of reports, account reconciliations and accompanying schedules in accordance with monthly closing schedule.
- Researches and analyzes a variety of complex workflows, accounting and systematic data; prepares related accounting reports, statements and cost benefit analyses. Includes making recommendations and providing solutions to increase efficiencies, enhance procedures and eliminate waste.
- Responsible for year end and ad hoc auditing and reports. Documenting and monitoring internal controls in support of auditing team.
- Perform in-depth cost analysis for raw materials, production processes, and finished products. Monitor and report on cost variances and provide insights into areas for cost reduction or process improvement.
- Oversees the inventory control process, including reconciling physical inventory counts, monitoring stock levels and ensuring accurate valuation of inventory by working with company and site inventory control managers.
- Monitor and analyze trends in labor and overhead spending, production volume and mix and material usage. Works with management team to identify and understand variances.
- Demonstrate self-initiative and takes responsibility to understand and complete daily tasks while asking for clarification or coaching as needed; follows through on commitments and is a trusted team member.
- Manages subledger accounts of cash, AR, inventory, and AP, including setup, maintenance, reporting and audit verification and coordination. Includes analyzing for proper presentation, valuation and/or impairment by working with process managers.
- Assists with development and implementation of internal controls, accounting policies and procedures with respect to current and best practices.
- Participation in complex accounting projects and initiatives either as a project lead or member with others on the accounting and finance team or with other departments.
- Liaison with other company facilities providing direction and best practices for reconciliations and to complete projects.
- May indirectly lead other accounting staff.
- Other duties as assigned.
CompensationThe pay range for this position: $80,000 - $100,000/year, FLSA status: exempt.

Minimum Requirements- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance from an accredited college or university
- Five + years of accounting related experience, including working in a lead and/or training capacity
- CPA designation preferred
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on quality at all times
- Proficient with MS Office software and use of a PC; advanced skills in Excel
- Experience with tier 1 or tier 2 fully integrated ERP software and workflows
- Strong knowledge of accounting and auditing principles and practices, including GAAP and cost accounting
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with ability to communicate in English
- Superior math and problem-solving skills
- Good decision-making skills
- Ability to plan and organize work activities with a focus on efficiency
- Ability to work under time constraints with changing priorities
- Proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively with different levels of employees
- Must be able to follow directions and work in a team environment
