SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE OF ROLE:
The Senior Specialist Group Reporting is primarily responsible for working with the team to deliver the Group’s US/SEC reporting including the production of the Annual Form 20-F, the UK Annual Report (excluding the Annual Financial Statements).
- Working with the Reporting team to manage the Groups Reporting process in terms of the production of the Annual Form 20-F, quarterly SEC filings, earnings release and the UK Annual Report (excluding the Annual Financial Statements) and financial inputs in the Sustainability Report.
- Preparation of the management discussion and analysis section (item 5) of the Form 20-F.
- Review and modify quarterly and annual reports to market - in conjunction with Investor Relations - to ensure that disclosed information is useful and relevant to the investor community and analysts and that the information agrees to the accounting records.
- Advising senior management and relevant finance teams on developments in SEC rules and the US regulatory environment.
- Work with the team to project and manage the SEC filings and the yearly UK annual report (excluding the AFS).
- Advise on non-routine transactions (acquisitions/disposals/group restructuring/new financing) across the Group in terms of regulatory filings.
- Participate in the implementation of future requirements from sustainability accounting and reporting.
- Support the SVP/VP: Group controllership to address all the ad-hoc regulatory comment letters received from the SEC.
- Maintain relationships with external auditors and manage the 20-F review process.
- Maintain relationships with the US Securities lawyers and resolve queries and provide all the requested information in response to their review processes.
- Maintaining the SOX control process within the Group Reporting team.
- Participate in the year-end SOX meetings to assist in assessing all identified SOX deficiencies and possible impacts with the SOX and external audit teams.
EDUCATION & QUALIFICATIONS:
- Relevant post-graduate degree(s) in Accounting and/or Chartered Accountant, or equivalent qualification.
- 5 years in the mining industry and/or associated business fields, which should include corporate reporting/financial accounting functions.
REQUIRED GENERAL KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE:
- Understanding of SEC rules and US and UK Reporting frameworks and regulations.
- Sound financial Reporting and their application.
- Experience with the accounting for large Corporate structures.
- Experience of working with cross-functional and geographical teams.
- Excellent communication, analytical and problem-solving abilities with a focus on detail.
- Project Management and Execution - has an understanding of the “bigger picture” and how this drives projects and business cases.
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
This is a full-time, exempt position in the Denver Office.
COMPENSATION:
$80,622 - $125,000
