Reporting to the Vice President of Finance and Corporate Services (VPFCS) SAE North America (SAE NA), the role is responsible for the comprehensive financial functions of SAE NA and its constituent campuses. This includes: management and oversight of accounting, management reporting, management of business accounts, monitors tax compliance and reporting, among others. The Director will provide expertise in collaboration with the VPFCS on strategic planning and analysis and is responsible for verifying compliance with government regulations and SAE NA policies. Position will directly manage the Accounting staff; and serves as an advisor to Campus Directors as it relates to financial operations of their respective locations.
Director of Accounting Duties and Accountabilities:
- Provide complex financial reports, analysis and forecasts for all SAE NA locations.
- Oversee management of the daily operations in Finance Department.
- In conjunction with Navitas and SAE NA finance professionals team work on special projects and toward greater efficiencies in policies, processes and procedures across Navitas and SAE NA finance organization.
- Develop procedures for implementing administrative and financial policies, procedures and systems, as well as future planning of same.
- Oversight of Centralized Administrative Functions: payment processing, vendor setup and payroll.
- Manage the month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring accuracy, completeness, reasonable documentation and ongoing identification of areas for improvement.
- Provides training to Campus Directors, coordinating with the VPFCS.
- Coordinates and directs post-audit procedures and interacts with Audit Services as needed.
- Manages accounting staff: Accounts payables and receivables and Accounting Analyst.
- Responsible for statutory and GAAP reporting of all other financial aspects, including cash management, banking, insurance, AR/AP, fixed assets, general ledger, consolidations of operating locations, payroll, budgeting, forecasting, period end reporting and annual audits.
- Balance Sheet reconciliations.
- Assist the VPFCS in the coordination and evaluation of the financial budgeting process.
- Assist in the preparation of year-end financial statement schedules and disclosures.
- Manage the timely preparation and filing of all financial regulatory reports.
- Monitor liquidity management by providing monthly and quarterly cash flow calculation.
- Manage correspondent banking relationships.
- Manage wire functions and ACH; maintain wire policy, and act as primary administrator.
- Define and communicate accounting staff’s performance standards through coaching and leadership.
- Provide superior service to build employee relationships and promote growth.
- Establish, promote, and maintain a positive work atmosphere by modelling professional, polite, and respectful behavior.
- Oversee and manage all bank accounts, cash management, transfers, and distributions among all companies.
- Approve check requisitions, PO requisitions, and select invoices for payment weekly.
- Continuously look for ways to simplify and improve work processes to achieve better results and efficiency.

Director of Accounting Qualifications:
- CPA or MBA and/or an equivalent combination of education and 8 years’ experience in financial management setting with at least 5 years of supervisory experience.
- Must also have experience in handling revenues from multiple sources.
- Extensive financial and budget management experience in a Higher Education Institution.
- Extensive knowledge of GAAP/IFRS.
- Extensive knowledge of Higher Education Regulatory requirements.
- Experience of reporting in a Matrix structure.

Director of Accounting Additional Information:
This is a full time remote group employee position to be based out of the following cities/states: Nashville, TN; Chicago, IL; New York, NY; Miami, FL; Atlanta, GA.
Sitting for long periods. Dexterity and coordination to handle files and single pieces of paper, occasional lifting of items weighing up to twenty-five (25) pounds such as files, stacks of paper, reference and other materials. Moving from place to place within the organization, minimal reaching for items above and below desk level. Strength, dexterity, coordination and vision to use keyboard and video display terminal for prolonged periods.
