The Technical Accounting (TA) unit is looking for a results-oriented individual who will make an immediate impact in Swiss Re's Corso unit. We are looking for an individual with aptitude for working with numbers and a desire to help others. This position not only supports the reconciliation and collection of open receivables but also supports the business needs of underwriters and outside producers. Tasks include working with underwriters and producers to resolve premium and commission discrepancies and answering queries from Brokers. Position is work-life balance friendly.
Responsibilities
- Reconcile cash receipts to premium and commission bookings
- Understand booking differences and efficiently communicate issues to underwriting or the producer
- Proactively and professionally follow up on overdue premium payments
- Handle selected internal client relationships for assigned accounts
- Assist and support external auditor data requests
- Collaborate closely with Finance for cash handling reporting
- Expand role responsibility to perform general ledger account reconciliations
About You
- College degree preferred, Business Major, but not mandatory
- Work experience in a related position can substitute for a college degree
- Insurance industry experience, premium receivable handling preferred
- Experience in cash application, discrepancy resolution, or both preferred
- Ability to work as a team player
- Willingness to learn different aspects of North America TA unit
- Ability to multitask and prioritize competing customer requests, adapting to changes accordingly
- Customer service focused with the ability to interact with customers to resolve questions quickly and satisfactorily
- Consistent track record of being a self-starter and working with limited guidance, managing own workload effectively
- Results-oriented working style, with strong focus on performance, targets, and risk management
- Strong analytical skills (flair for figures)
- Proficient in Excel
