A construction superintendent plays a crucial role in overseeing all aspects of a construction project from start to finish.
Duties- Inspecting the work of the construction contractor during the construction phase.
- Develop and implement project schedules, ensuring timelines are met and milestones achieved.
- Coordinate with project managers, engineers, architects, and subcontractors to ensure smooth workflow and resolve any issues that arise.
- Review and interpret construction drawings and specifications to ensure accuracy and adherence to project requirements.
- Conduct regular inspections to ensure compliance with building codes, safety guidelines, and quality standards.
- Serve as the main point of contact for all on-site activities, maintaining communication with project stakeholders and updating them on progress and issues.
- Prepare and submit daily reports, progress updates, and other required documentation.
- Enforce safety policies and procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
- Conduct regular safety meetings and inspections to mitigate risks and hazards.
Requirements- Knowledge of federal, state, and local building and safety codes.
- Has prior experience supervising/managing construction in commercial/industrial construction.
- Knowledgeable in AutoCAD and MSOffice Suite.
- Must understand construction drawings, plans, and specifications and be knowledgeable about construction methods, materials, and regulations.
- Must work well under pressure, particularly when faced with unexpected occurrences or delays.
