Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Staff Accountant to join a small Fresno based CPA Firm. As a Staff Accountant, you will play a crucial role in providing exceptional accounting services to a well established client base. You will be responsible for overseeing and managing various accounting functions, ensuring compliance with accounting principles and regulations, and providing valuable insights to support decision-making processes. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical abilities, excellent communication skills, and a proven track record of delivering high-quality results in a fast-paced environment.
Staff Accountant responsibilities include:
- Oversee and manage client accounts, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards, regulations, and tax laws.
- Prepare and review financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Conduct financial analysis and provide insights to clients to support strategic decision-making.
- Manage the month-end and year-end close processes, including reconciliations, accruals, and journal entries.
- Collaborate with clients to develop and implement accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
- Assist clients with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities.
- Stay updated on changes in accounting standards, regulations, and industry trends, and ensure compliance.
- Handle special projects and ad-hoc assignments as assigned by management.
Staff Accountant desired qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA certification is preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience working in public accounting, preferably within a CPA firm.
- In-depth knowledge of GAAP, tax laws, and regulatory requirements.
- Strong proficiency in accounting software and familiarity with manual forms.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data and provide actionable insights.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in work output.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with clients and team members.
- Proven ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
