Job Summary
Cellipont Bioservices is growing, and we are looking for a Senior Accountant who believes in the potential of bridging client's discoveries to patient cures and who wants to challenge the status quo and take Cellipont and its clients to the next level.
The Senior Accountant will be responsible for performing professional accounting work, including auditing, analyzing and verifying fiscal records and reports, preparing financial and statistical reports, providing information as requested regarding accounting practices and procedures, and reconciling general ledger accounts.
The Senior Accountant will also assist in preparing the organization's annual budgets; prepare year-end audit reports and schedules; train and provide technical advice to lower-level accounting personnel, and perform related work as required. This individual will be responsible for accounting activities such as maintenance of the general ledger and preparation of various accounting statements and financial reports, and other duties as assigned or required. This role will report to the Controller.
The Role
- Responsible for the accuracy and integrity of the General Ledger
- Prepare profit and loss statements and monthly closing and cost accounting reports
- Resolve accounting discrepancies
- Accountable for the accuracy and performance of Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable
- Accountable for ensuring our policies and procedures are in line with GAAP and Sarbanes Oxley compliance
- Actively participate in internal and external audits
- Accountable for reconciliation of and assisting in the confirmation of general ledger accounts, internal allocations, revenue recognition (ASC 606), lease accounting (ASC 842) and cost accounting transactions
- Responsible for timely month end closings in line with monthly and quarterly closing schedule as prescribed by the controller and corporate accounting group
- Preparing journal entries and account analysis, tracing errors, researching, and correcting account discrepancies and maintaining various accounting reports
- Responsible for preparation of Monthly P&L and Balance Sheet for assigned departments/locations
- Conduct variance analysis together with assigned department/location budget holders of actual results vs. budget and current period vs. prior periods
The Candidate
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting is required, MBA preferred with a minimum of 5-7 years accounting experience is required
- Public company experience and CPA certification preferred
- Advanced level in Microsoft Excel and analytical skills are required
- Financial analysis experience required
- Ability to communicate effectively to all levels within the organization
- Ability to plan work appropriately to meet required deadlines
- Ability to multi-task and assign appropriate priority to activities
- Strong attention to detail and highly organized
- Strong analytical skills; strong process improvement skills
- Must possess the desire and ability to learn and adapt to change quickly is required
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and work independently or in a team setting
- Consistently able to meet established goals, expectations, and responsibilities for the position
