If this sounds like you, then we invite you to apply for our Rail Fleet Analyst role to join our team at our world headquarters in Wichita, KS supporting our polypropylene business.
As a Rail Fleet Analyst, you will provide daily railcar fleet coordination and optimization for company owned and leased railcars for the business. The successful candidate will exhibit strong problem-solving and decision-making skills in a fast-paced environment, have excellent communication skills, the ability to prioritize day-to-day and longer-term responsibilities, work well within a team with a strong customer focus, and have excellent attention to detail/follow-through.
What You Will Do
- Tracking and tracing of railcars, providing updates to production facilities/terminals, product schedulers, internal commercial team members, and end-customers on car availability.
- Apply decision making and problem-solving skills to resolve in-route delays/exceptions or unplanned events that could potentially impact the customer or the production facility.
- Analyze and provide fleet reporting metrics and KPIs to optimize our railcar utilization.
- Coordinate and optimize the execution of required regulatory tank car testing and qualification.
- Initiate and coordinate maintenance of the railcar fleet by working with KBX, an internal rail service provider.
- Collaborate and build both internal and external relationships to include working in cross functional teams with groups such as Operations, Legal, Compliance, and Marketing.
- Resolve railroad services issues and escalate internally when necessary.
- Embrace change by increasing knowledge of emerging technologies, actively experimenting, and improving processes.
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Business, Logistics, or Supply Chain/Transportation
- 1+ years of experience working in a corporate, procurement, logistics, supply chain, manufacturing environment or military equivalent role
- Experience with Microsoft Excel (i.e. spreadsheet creation/editing, pivot tables, data manipulation/analysis, formula creation, etc.)
- Experience using analytics to scenario plan and solve problems
- Ability to travel up to 10% of the time
- This role is not eligible for visa sponsorship
What Will Put You Ahead
- Experience in railcar operations, leasing, and maintenance
- Logistics experience working in the chemical or petrochemical manufacturing industry
- Experience & knowledge of DOT and FRA compliance regulations
- Experience in SAP, Oracle Transportation Management (OTM), or Bourque data systems
- Experience with Microsoft Access, Alteryx, Power BI, Tableau, or other data visualization platform
