About the team:
Our Accounting Team plays a pivotal role in maintaining the financial integrity of our organization. We are a close-knit group of 11 professionals who are all about keeping the company’s finances in check. With our ever-expanding global footprint, the team is currently overseeing entities in 10 countries, responsible for maintaining company books, financial reporting and analysis, annual audits, taxes, and other compliance.
About the role:
The Senior Accountant is responsible for supporting the global accounting function, including the monthly close process, financial reporting, and compliance with U.S. GAAP and statutory accounting requirements. This role requires a strong understanding of accounting principles, analytical skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in accounting.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for supporting the full cycle general ledger monthly close process across multiple foreign and domestic entities to ensure compliance with statutory accounting requirements as well as U.S. GAAP.
- Manage outsourced accountants to help facilitate a timely close package and ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP.
- Responsible for reviewing fixed assets, including capitalized software, for capitalization and proper amortization of prepaid expenses.
- Record and reconcile monthly payroll by working with the payroll department on the proper recording of various payroll payment disbursements.
- Prepare monthly account reconciliations and supporting schedules for journal entries and reports, with in-depth analysis and understanding.
- Responsible for monthly flux variance analysis and thorough understanding of accounts.
- Provide wide range of support for international statutory audits and tax filings.
- Review, audit, and record employee expense reports to ensure compliance with Company guidelines.
- Support the global accounts payable function.
- Provide oversight and coordination with external accountants to comply with audit deadlines.
- Partner with key stakeholders (e.g. Payroll, Finance) to support the organization.
- Document and maintain accounting processes and procedures to ensure they comply with internal policies and recommend improvements as noted.
- Development of localized accounting policies for new markets/regions – understanding both the group policies at the U.S. parent company, in addition to the local requirements to ensure compliance.
- Participate in accounting projects and other ad hoc projects, as needed.
Basis Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
- Minimum of 3+ years of experience in Accounting or Auditing.
- Strong proficiency in Excel and ability to work with large amounts of data.
Preferred Qualifications
- Global accounting experience.
- CPA certification.
- Experience working in Netsuite.
