The Senior Financial Analyst of External Reporting assists in ensuring compliant, complete, accurate and timely SEC and other filings. The individual will participate in streamlining and improving the quality and timeliness of the financial reporting processes. The individual will work cross functionally with other departments within the Controllers organization, Investor Relations, Corporate Governance, Treasury and Global Business Services.
Role Responsibilities
- Financial Reporting: Coordinate and prepare information included in earnings releases and Form 8-K, Form 10-Q,Form 10-K and on-line Annual Report, as well as assist in review of select financial information in Proxy Statement, and Registration Statements (S-8, S-3, e.g.) and other filings as needed. Applies skills, discipline, technical and line knowledge to contribute to the achievement of work within Work Team. Uses own judgment to modify standard methods and techniques when necessary. Works under general supervision. Performs assignments using established procedures and general instruction on the process and desired outcome.
- XBRL: Participates in the review of XBRL to ensuring compliance with XBRL requirements. Able to work independently; makes decisions within guidelines and policies. May function as a technical resource within the team.
- Process Strategy/Leveraging of Technology: Partner with responsible parties to further automate the datasets that feed into reporting the main financial statements and footnotes to the SEC; leverage technology to ensure the timely, complete and accurate delivery of information in support of external financial reporting for Pfizer. Applies knowledge of internal/external business challenges to provide input into recommendations for improvements. Begins to explore and apply ingenuity to experimentation. Decisions impact own work and may impact the Work and may have short-term effect on the delivery of scheduled projects.
- SOX Controls/Coordination of Internal and External Audits: Provide support to internal and external auditors during audits and interim reviews.
- Business Process Reengineering/Benchmarking: Assist in review disclosures of competitors and various public companies for reporting practices and improvements to Company disclosures.
- Financial Reporting and Integration of Acquired Companies and/or Financial Reporting of Discontinued Operations Contributes to supporting the consolidation and integration of acquired companies or reporting discontinued operations.
- Corporate Support: partner with Treasury, Corporate Governance/Legal, Investor Relations, and Global Business Services to support their projects (e.g., debt issuances, proxy, shareholders’ meetings, governance, benefit plan financial statements). Assist in preparing and reviewing other financial statements and reports as needed.
- Role in Team Interaction: Participates and contributes as a team member during team; takes responsibility for a portion of the team's milestones/deliverables.

Required Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting
- CPA
- 3-5 years of combined experience with Big 4 and publicly held multinational companies and in-depth knowledge of reporting and financial SEC compliance
- Knowledge and experience with Workiva’s WDesk software
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge and experience with SharePoint
- XBRL knowledge and experience
- Prior Pharma industry experience

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $83,500.00 to $139,100.00. In addition, this position is eligible for participation in Pfizer’s Global Performance Plan with a bonus target of 10.0% of the base salary.
