Summary
Under the director of the Shared Business Operations leadership, this role serves as a subject matter expert regarding the effectiveness, efficiency and engagement of the Clinical Accounting team, focusing on areas such as coordinating communication between the SBO and its various clinics. As a senior member of the Shared Business Operations Finance organization, is responsible for contributing to the success for the team of controllers that support the clinical operations. They will collaborate with their Financial management team to drive continuous improvement and support the development of a positive work culture.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Peer leading the SBO Clinical Staff Accountants: The Sr. Staff Accountant is responsible for supporting company initiatives by ensuring that the team of Accountants focused on the Clinical area are well trained, supported and equipped to perform their job duties, up to and including reviewing work and reports before distribution to Clinic and Corporate leadership.
- Financial reporting: Preparing and presenting financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- General ledger management: Recording intercompany financial transactions in the general ledger, ensuring accuracy and completeness of the records.
- Account reconciliation: Reconciling intercompany accounts and resolving any discrepancies between records and transactions.
- Accruals and allocation: Booking prepaids, accruals and recording all expense allocations.
- Budget management: Assisting with budget preparation and monitoring, ensuring that expenses are in line with budgetary guidelines.
- Compliance: Ensuring that all financial records and transactions are in compliance with accounting principles and regulations, including HIPAA, Medicare, and Medicaid regulations.
- Communication and collaboration: Collaborating with other departments, such as accounting, finance, and operations, to ensure that financial records and transactions are accurately recorded and reported.
Qualifications
Required Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field from an accredited university and knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles.
Required Experience: Five (5) or more years of experience in Clinical Accounting/Finance setting and general accounting knowledge.
Preferred Experience: Hospital/Healthcare System, multi-site accounting experience preferred.
Preferred License/Registration/Certification: Six Sigma.
Computer Skills Required: Google Suite preferred; willingness to learn Oracle and leverage the training, reporting, and process components to excel at role.
