Health in Tech (HIT) is reimagining and simplifying the way self-funded health plans are designed, priced, and packaged for small to mid-sized companies. We are a fast-growing company combining the expertise of software developers, reinsurance specialists, insurance administrators, and health-care providers to challenge the high cost of health insurance for businesses and dramatically simplify the buying process.
This is a remote position and reports directly to the Finance Director.
Responsibilities
Staff Accountant:
- Recording financial transactions accurately and efficiently in the appropriate accounting software
- Reconciling bank statements, accounts receivable, and accounts payable to ensure accurate client account balances
- Assisting in the preparation of financial statements, such as balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date Company records and files
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business, or a related field
- 2+ years of experience in accounting or finance
- Experience in the insurance industry is required
- Strong knowledge of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles)
- Experience with financial reporting and analysis, and preparing financial statements
- Excellent proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other accounting software such as Quickbooks
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and communicate financial information effectively to non-finance audiences
- Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with integrity and professionalism
