Position Overview
The Accounting Manager will plan and direct the accounting activities of the department to deliver timely and accurate financial data, assist with preparation of accurate financial statements and reports, develop and maintain accounting procedures, practices, and principles in accordance with GAAP and cash-basis accounting.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Leads, develops, and manages the accounting staff who are responsible for the department’s duties to include accounts receivable, payroll, accounts payable, general ledger reconciliation, and budget preparation support.
- Recruits and hires accounting and financial staff and conducts performance evaluations.
- Coordinates training programs for new staff and identifies training needs for current staff.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Administer/apply internal control policies, guidelines, and practices for accounting transactions and budget preparation in accordance with GAAP.
- Assist with preparation of financial statements and supporting data schedules for internal and external parties.
- Prepares business activity and financial performance reports, financial forecasts, and annual budgets.
- Develop and maintain financial statement closing schedule and align department functions and staff to meet timelines.
- Review and confirm accuracy of all journal entries posted to the general ledger.
- Complete regular bank reconciliations and prepare related adjustments.
- Reconcile and balance inter-company accounts for related party transactions.
- Maintain fixed asset ledger, compute and prepare amortization and depreciation entries.
- Assist with tax planning throughout the fiscal year.
- Support completion of all financial audits conducted by third-parties.
- Present recommendations to management on short- and long-term financial objectives and policies.
- Provide ad hoc reporting and financial analysis with an emphasis on project profitability, capital investments, pricing decisions, and contract negotiations.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal government requirements.
- Perform other related duties as necessary or assigned.

Necessary Skills & Qualifications

- Proficient in Quickbooks Desktop accounting software.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
- Proficient in Adobe Acrobat Professional software.
- Other accounting software packages knowledge is a plus.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree (Accounting or Finance preferred).
- Seven years or more of related experience required.
