JOB SUMMARY:

Reporting to the Conflict of Interest and Commitment Director, the COIC Senior Analyst will work collaboratively to mitigate and manage potential and actual conflicts of interest. This position will serve as a first point-of-contact for employees seeking assistance in performing disclosures or COIC-related policy guidance. With the goal of preventing personal interests and activities from adversely influencing Clemson University research, this position will ensure timely review of research-related activities and relationships, and management of conflicts of interest in compliance with regulations and policies. Additionally, this position will serve as backup to the COIC Director when needed.

JOB DUTIES:

35% - Essential - Conflicts of Interest in Research:
Analysis: Review and analyze annual conflict of interest disclosure and management plans submitted by research personnel, ensure completeness of disclosures, and identify discrepancies and potential conflict of interest issues. Review research proposals and awards for regulatory compliance requirements.

20% - Essential - Program Support:
Reporting - Develop and maintain a reporting process to track compliance related to regulatory and university requirements for personnel.
Training - Collaborate with the COIC Director to develop strategic initiatives to promote awareness across the university community regarding conflicts of interest and commitment. Collaborate to create and administer educational content for annual faculty and staff training about conflict of interest and commitment compliance requirements.

15% - Essential - Consultation - Communicate on behalf of the conflict of interest and commitment office and advise research personnel regarding disclosure and regulatory compliance requirements.

15% - Essential - Committee Support - Serve as liaison between the conflict of interest and commitment committee and research personnel. Present research related disclosures to the COIC Committee for review and deliberation. Advise and make recommendations to the committee regarding the applicability of federal regulations, state statutes, and Clemson University policies and procedures.

15% - Essential - Consultation - Communicate on behalf of the COIC office and advise personnel regarding disclosure and regulatory compliance requirements.
Other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Education - 1st Bachelor's Degree - Relevant Experience
Work Exp 1+ years

Work Exp 1+ years

Firm Job Knowledge - Firm working knowledge of concepts, practices and procedures and ability to use in varied situations

No Supervisory Duties - Not responsible for supervising employees.

No Budget Responsibilities - No fiscal responsibility for the department's budget.
