Our Finance team is currently seeking a Sr Financial Analyst in our Worcester, MA location in a hybrid work arrangement.
This is a full time, exempt role.
POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Sr. Financial Analyst will be responsible for ultimate loss projections for property catastrophe events.
IN THIS ROLE, YOU WILL:
- Work with Claims CAT AVP, Claims team, and actuarial partners to develop accurate projections for each new CAT; review regularly and update as needed to ensure adequate reserves and accurate financials.
- Prepare monthly and quarterly review materials and presentations for Claims leadership and senior management.
- Work with accounting contacts, book CAT IBNR to the general ledger and segment; load segmented losses to Hyperion.
- Work with CAT team and Auto admin to identify un-coded CAT claims on a regular basis.
- Provide Property Subro with claim reports as needed for potential subro opportunities; coordinate with Hanover Programs for TPA claims as needed. Work with claims team/accounting to get subro recoveries into CMX.
- Support Property claims leaders with data requests as needed.
WHAT YOU NEED TO APPLY:
- Bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant technical field (math, finance, actuarial science, or analytics preferred).
- 4-6+ years of related analytical and property & casualty industry experience preferred (e.g. actuarial, business analytics, or finance).
- Expert knowledge of Excel and intermediate knowledge of SQL; ability to efficiently work with large and complex data sets.
- Comfortable turning raw data into meaningful information; ability to summarize financial data into oral and written communications (including the use of PowerPoint) for senior management.
- Comprehends key industry financial/operational metrics.
- Strong organization, project, and time management skills; detail-oriented and able to multi-task and meet all deadlines with quality product.
- Problem-solving and innovation mindset.
