Summary of Role:
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Tax Scheduler to join our team. The Tax Scheduler will assist the Tax Resource Management Supervisor in managing and coordinating the scheduling of tax engagements, ensuring optimal utilization of resources, and supporting the tax department in meeting client deadlines and business objectives. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, an ability to manage multiple priorities, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
You will be responsible for:
- Coordinating the scheduling of tax engagements to ensure efficient use of staff and resources.
- Working closely with tax partners, managers, and other team members to assign appropriate staff to projects based on availability, expertise, and client needs.
- Monitoring and adjusting schedules to meet changing client demands, deadlines, and internal priorities.
- Collaborating with resource managers to identify gaps or conflicts in scheduling and proposing solutions.
- Ensuring that staff are appropriately aligned based on their technical skills, industry knowledge, and geographic location.
- Maintaining and updating scheduling software (CCH Axcess Workflow Scheduler) with accurate data on staff availability, project timelines, and client requirements.
- Communicating scheduling changes and updates to relevant team members in a timely manner.
- Assisting in forecasting resource needs for future tax seasons and engagements.
- Supporting the tax department in achieving its financial and operational goals by optimizing staff utilization.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in scheduling, resource management, or a similar role (experience in a tax environment strongly preferred).
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills, with an ability to prioritize and manage competing deadlines.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with team members at all levels and resolve conflicts in a professional and diplomatic way.
- Proficiency in scheduling software (CCH Axcess Workflow Scheduler) and MS Office (Excel, Word, etc.).
- Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to adapt to a fast-paced and changing work environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Minimum of one year of resource management or client service delivery experience within a professional services environment.
- Minimum two years of Tax background or experience preferred.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook.

GHJ complies with all local/state regulations in regards to displaying salary ranges. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. Any offered salary is determined based on internal equity, internal salary ranges, market data, ranges, applicant's skills and prior relevant experience, certain degrees and certifications (e.g. JD, technology), for example. At GHJ, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is: $80,000 - $90,000.
