Primary Purpose
Support the preparation of quarterly unaudited and annual audited financial statements for use by management, partners, lenders and outside agencies. Perform various reporting tasks for monthly, quarterly, and annual financial information internally to Sempra corporate and to external partners including financial analysis and other metrics required by internal or external stakeholders.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Prepare quarterly unaudited and annually audited financial statements including complex disclosure information for Sempra Infrastructure management, partners, lenders, and outside agencies. Collaborates with other professionals across various departments such as Tax, Accounting Research and Accounting.
- Reviews, analyzes, and evaluates quarterly and annual financial information and reports including workpapers and support paperwork prepared by staff for use by Sempra Infrastructure Partners.
- Reviews the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial information, including analysis and reporting of various metrics in accordance with the Sempra Infrastructure Partners’ Limited Partnership Agreement. Prepares additional ad hoc reports at partners' request.
- Prepares and delivers quarterly and annual financial information in support of 10K/10Q and internal reporting to Sempra Corporate.
- Applies expertise to implement Sempra Infrastructure financial reporting strategy, standards, processes, and procedures for accounting, related systems and to ensure compliance with SOX, internal controls, and relevant processes for a growing integrated entity.
- Implements and supports innovative and automated accounting reporting tools and processes.
- Perform other duties as assigned (no more than 5% of duties).
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- Accounting, finance, economics, business administration or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 8+ years of Public and/or professional accounting or equivalent training and/or experience.
- Knowledge of financial accounting and reporting.
- Knowledge of accounting principles generally accepted in the U.S.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Knowledge of accounting systems and internal controls (HFM and MAX experience is a plus).
- Knowledge of automated reporting systems (Workiva experience is a plus).
- Ability to identify issues, analyze data, develop, recommend, and implement solutions.
- Ability to process transactions in a timely and accurate manner.
- Ability to identify and implement process improvements.
- Ability to work independently and with minimal guidance from management.
- Decision-making and problem-solving skills.
- Interact and communicate with others, verbally and orally.
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in US GAAP.
- Energy industry experience.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
- Certified Management Accountant (CMA)
