Our intention is to provide our members with the highest level of audit representation available, and our goal is that they should never have to meet with the IRS or state tax agency. We are looking for a remote Outside Representative who is passionate about helping others and shares our values of caring for people, having a positive attitude, and being dedicated to the team.
As an Outside Representative, you will be responsible for handling any audit assigned by our Audit Division, from assignment to resolution or reassignment internally. We will review each audit notice and tax return prior to assignment and will discuss any issues that may be relevant to the representation when the audit is assigned to you. If any out-of-town travel is required, we will reimburse preapproved expenses. If additional research is required, we will provide that research in addition to assisting you with any questions or concerns that occur throughout the course of the audit. Representation does not include preparing books and records or preparing and amending tax returns.
An Outside Representative can be hired as either an Independent Contractor or a part-time W2. To qualify as an independent contractor, the candidate's business must be a C-Corp or S-Corp with tax treatment of a C-Corp.

- Members will experience your patience, professionalism, integrity, and sincerity as an advocate on their behalf.
- You will be an ambassador for our company and be engaged and aligned with TaxAudit’s core values.
- TaxAudit and partner standards will be maintained and exceeded.
- You will maintain a cooperative and interactive relationship with your internal TaxAudit team.
Essential Functions:
Manage federal and state tax audit defense case load, which includes:
- Working with the taxpayer to assist in gathering documents and information.
- Utilizing any electronic case management or case tracking system used by TaxAudit.
- Following all procedures and utilizing all resources TaxAudit shall establish or provide for the transmission, communication, and protection of Confidential Member Information.
- Organizing documents and preparing response packages for submission to IRS and state taxing authorities.
- Drafting correspondence and discussing cases and tax law with IRS and state agents.
Qualifications:
- EA, CPA, or Attorney.
- 3-6 years of experience representing taxpayers before the IRS and local tax agencies.
- Competence in tax law knowledge.
- Working knowledge of how the IRS is organized and how audit and appeals issues are handled.
- Ability to work independently.
- Ability to communicate clearly in the explanation of tax-related issues.
- Intermediate to Strong Computer Skills.

- Dexterity and ability to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, and other devices and objects for significant portions of the workday.
