Position Summary
The Sr. Loss Mitigation Specialist is responsible for handling end-to-end activities related to Loss Mitigation actions in accordance with statutory compliance, regulatory compliance, investor guidelines, and company guidelines. The Sr. Loss Mitigation Specialist will be expected to establish/maintain a culture of team collaboration, accountability, operational excellence, and unwavering commitment to customer service and satisfaction.
Primary Responsibilities
- Responsible for end-to-end activities as it relates to Homeowners Assistance Funds (HAF), and future variations of state assistance.
- Attend required mediations, both telephonic and in person, on behalf of the company.
- Perform detailed and thorough review of all Loss Analysis assigned to the Loss Mitigation department.
- Research all losses.
- Identify areas of opportunity and play a role in implementing enhanced processes to mitigate future losses.
- Manage all servicing acquisitions, as it relates to in-flight loss mitigation.
- Effectively communicate with prior services, internal departments, and Loss Mitigation leaders.
- Research and analyze all data and images.
- Validate data updated in servicing system post transfer.
- Manage all servicing releases, as it relates to in-flight Loss Mitigation.
- Effectively communicate with acquiring servicers and internal departments.
- Work with internal servicing transfers team for information/data required.
- Partner with Investor Reporting on reporting inconsistencies as it relates to Loss Mitigation.
- Participate in any required UAT Testing as it relates to Loss Mitigation.
- Initial review and research audit findings.
- Identify areas of opportunity and play a role in implementing enhanced processes to ensure compliance.
- Complete quality reviews of Loss Mitigation Letter data tape and letters.
- Oversight of specific loss mitigation reports and tasks.
- Follows departmental and business policies with strict adherence.
- Prioritize allocated work to ensure timely and accurate resolution to both external and internal partners.
- Perform related duties as assigned by the manager.
Qualifications
Required:
- 3+ years’ experience in loss mitigation.
- 3+ years’ experience in mortgage servicing.
- 3+ years’ experience in MSP/Black Knight (ICE) products.
- 3+ years’ experience leading projects.
- Deep understanding of all GSE and Agency servicing guides.
- Strong problem solving and communication skills.
- Strong computer literacy with an emphasis on Microsoft Excel.
- Extensive experience with Fannie Mae’s SMDU and Freddie Mac’s Workout Prospector and Resolve.
- High school Diploma or equivalent.
- Experience in Black Knight (ICE)’s LoanSphere Loss Mitigation platform.
